A couple of quick questions

Andy,

I notice that Kenny seems to get very constipated during the OFF cycle of chelation.

I've been pondering your advice regarding going back to either 7/7 or 3/4 instead of 3/11. (Kenny is 7 1/2 yo, and just now beginning to speak.)

(We are just now on our 4th DMSA/ALA cycle.)

My inclination is to go with 3/4, especially from the standpoint of being able to get up for the 3 AM dose on the weekends when one can sleep late the next morning. (I get up at 5AM to swim on weekdays, and getting up at 3 is pretty darn hard on my sleep cycles!)

Is there any indication that 7/7 would be more effective then 3/4?

Also, I wonder if you can shed some light on the following observation. (I've been watching this for quite a while now, thinking it's just a coincidence, but am finally convinced it just can't be.) Shortly before Kenny has a large BM, he becomes EXTREMELY hyper. He can't sit still, he gets really silly, he runs away, flaps his arms etc. Almost as if he is trying to run away from his body. This seems to occur when he is in an ON cycle almost all the time, and only sometimes when he's in an off cycle.

Any thoughts on this? Could it be the mercury or other heavy metals coming out in his stool which cause him to react like this?

Thanks for your help and insights. I very much appreciate all the time and effort you have put in to help all of us!

I should also have mentioned that Kenny has a LOT more bowel movements when he is chelating. I keep thinking, "well, there can't be anything else today" and most of the time it turns out I'm wrong.

I have been assuming this is a good thing though -- the more you get out of the body, the better.

Re: [ ] A couple of quick questions

: I am curious as to the effects of DMSA on the stool too! Only because my own son has had about 6 bowel movements in ONE day! Is this good or bad? It's definately MORE than his "normal bowel schedule"! Thanks for everyone's input!

Mostly you have asked questions I can't honestly say I know the answer

to.

Feeding him more magnesium will solve constipation, anyway.

7/7 vs 3/4 gives less redistributions after chelation, but I am not

sure it is a significant factor at that point. 3/4 is a LOT better

than 1/3 or something like that. But once you are out to 3 or 4 days

on I don't think you have to push it further. I don't have a good

basis to say that though.

I don't know what the excitement before a BM is at all.

Hi Sheila,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

I stopped taking the 7-keto DHEA because I started seeing a herbalist in

December and all my symptoms seemed to be worsening anyway so I thought I'd stop

when I started taking herbs. I didn't really give the herbs long enough - 3

months - but was feeling so much worse that I needed to rethink things, that's

why I thought I'd do the adrenal test again and take it from there.

I am thinking of going back to Dr P again and starting from scratch or at least

reviewing things with him. I don't know.
