Guest guest
Dear Jan, You have fantastic health insurance! I have private Blue Shield, PPO. We have to pay a deductible of $2000 per year EACH. Then $45 co-pay for a doctors visit--and that is if you step into the door even if they don't look at you. I brought in a urine sample and was charged $45 to drop it off. Every test has to be pre-approved. Dugs has another separate big deductible. I have a feeling they wish we'd croak before they pay. Is it any wonder both Hubby and myself try to avoid going to the dr.? For this insurance the premium is over $10,000 per year. And I have shopped around. I have to fight them on everything. They usually say, oh, that was an error, sorry! Yeah, right. Always an error in their favor. Don't get me started. I can't wait to get on Medicare. Hubby is only 61 and I'm 58, so got a ways to wait for it. This is why people can't afford their own health ins., and often go without it. The only time we got any appreciable money back from ins. was when Hubby had his cataract surgeries. This is the position many who were self-emplyed small business owners are in. Ok, that's my vent for the day. Love, __________________________________________________

Guest guest
, For a generic prescription I pay $3. For a name brand it costs $9. Don’t forget hubby did almost 25 years of military service for that coverage. We had a lot of time seperated. Him not gone for long times but gone Temporary duty (TDY's) first 10 years of marriage he was gone about 1/2 the time. He just got home and looked under my arm said it doesn’t look infected to him that was what I thought the spot was a scratch turned infected..........BAD NEWS IS he thinks it looks like it did in DEC 2002 when I woke up on morning sat up in bed and it underarm split open and this blood and smelly gunk ran out...that was when I was hospitalized and it was a staph infection. Will find out tomorrow. Your insurance sounds like my sisters......UGH! I did have to fight to get things done when hubby was active duty they drs would say nothing wrong with me and I asked to see rheumatologist. they said that I didn’t need a specialist. Well best get going. hope all is well see doc tomorrow hope it doesn’t split open I hate having to be packed.....UGH ~Jan Re: Health Ins. Dear Jan,You have fantastic health insurance! Guest guest
, hubbys cataract surgery- was he scared of surgery on the eye? I do now have cataract. do they, dr decide when surgery is necessary? up most of night wondering if the underarm has some infection that could be cause of this burning pain, did have sore throat neck tenderness, also up thinking of those who have to not go to dr for care because of cost, and those who have to pay so much for care. just listening to hubby snore, glad to have a hubby in 2006 we will be married for 30 yrs need to make some plans but hard to when I never know how I will feel hour to hour. ~jan Re: Health Ins. Guest guest
Jan - I had burning pains and itching in my knee - it was red hot and very swollen - much more than any of the other EN areas - i ended up seeing the head of infectious disease and he said i had a 'super infection' on top of the EN - treated me with very strong antibiotics and prescription strength anti-inflammatory - the infection is gone now and for the most part i can walk now - it felt sort of like frostbite - i had a low grade fever and a sore neck also ~ Re: Health Ins. up most of night wondering if the underarm has some infection that could be cause of this burning pain, did have sore throat neck tenderness,
