Guest guest
Dear Kelli, On behalf of all our members, welcome to our Erythema Nodosum Group! Thanks for sending in your Questionnaire. I have added the information to our " Member Medical History " Files on the Group site and posted it below. You now have Full EN Group privileges. You are receiving EN Group emails, and you can also go to the EN Group site whenever you like: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/erythema_nodosum_Group/ and logging on with your Yahoo ID and secret password. You do not have to have the group emails delivered to be a member here. Since you are an RN and have first hand experience with EN, I hope you will volunteer to join me and other members on our very first public service broadcast: An EN Interview/chat on Huntingtons Radio which is broadcast from Scotland all over the world. We are just now putting this together, and I don't have details yet. It will be great to get the word out. maybe your doctor would like to participate too. I'm impressed that you were hospitalized. Many of us are not even correctly diagnosed, and rarely are we hospitalized in the USA. It took me 5 yrs to find out what I had wrong. I imagine you have had a chest x-ray to look for sarcoidosis. Oddly enough nurses are at higher than usual risk for sarcoidosis and it often presents with EN. Also you should be checked for Alpha-1 a genetic condition that can affect breathing and can cause EN. And you probably know that the meds you were taking for bronchitis could have been responsible for the EN as well. The naproxin will not make the lumps resolve, but a trial of potassium iodide might. Until then please get rest, and bedrest if possible. Forcing yourself to be on your feet may make the EN last longer. It's wonderful to have a nurse join us. We would love to have others in the medical profession join us too. I'm not in the medical profession but I've had chronic EN for 37 years. Welcome to the Group! Love, ***** Kelli Hansen's Case History 12/6/05 1. Your name and age: Kelli 31 2. Your location: Nebraska 3. Your email address: smilnrn@... 4. Your Yahoo ID: smilnrn 5.
