Guest guest
Thanks Di Does this mean that the pain gets worse or simply different? I have weirder sensations as time goes along. The primary weird one is the feeling of an electric jolt that goes up and down my legs when I lie down. Kaylene You can also get changes in the periphery, or the rest of >your body: in the pain-carrying nerve fibers that live side-by-side >with your sympathetic fibers; in the sympathetic fibers so they start >sensing pain themselves; increased sensitivity of your pain-carrying >nerve fibers to excitatory chemicals, ie. your sympathetic system >starts causing pain itself; and a whole bunch of other mechanisms >that I'm not sure I fully understand. > >I hope this is somewhat helpful or interesting. Pain management (can you believe this?) was not taught in my university years, beyond cancer pain management - so everything I've learned has been post-graduation, through my own reading. This particular course I'm slogging through just spits out the bare technical facts without any explanation, so it's very hard to interpret.
