Dear Group,

I'm happy to introduce our newest member, Gayle. Gayle is fairly new

to EN, and it sounds like she is having a difficult initial flare-up.

While many of us in the Group have recurent EN, the classic case is to

get one flare-up only. Hopefully you will be a lucky one.

You are approved for full EN privileges, Gayle, and I hope you will

5. Describe your erythema nodosum symptoms.

I have the classic symptoms of the hard, red, painful to the touch

bumps on my legs, feet, elbows, lower arms, and hands. I am also

experiencing painful and swollen joints in my ankles, knees, hips,

elbows and wrists.

6. List any other health conditions.

I am overweight and have had asthma since I was twelve, and other than

the occassional cold have been realitively healthy.

7. State what medications or treatments you take for EN, and their

effectiveness:

I tried to take Naproxen, but after just 2 tablets I experienced

nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. The Physician's Assistant that I see

suggested that I stop taking that and stick with Advil.

8. When did you first get erythema nodosum? I noticed the bumps and

painful joints a few days before Christmas 2004.
