Guest guest
Hi Terri, I found a great web site . . . not sure if it's in the group list or not, but it has a nice chart to tell us what 'normal' is and explains some of the illnesses that can cause it. Real interesting stuff! The docs never tell us, do they, what our sed rates are . . . just that they're 'high'. Maybe some docs do . . . mine never did. I think I'll ask this time! =) http://my.webmd.com/hw/health_guide_atoz/hw43353.asp Have a great day! Guest guest
Thanks fr the great link, M. I usually ask my doc for a copy of my lab work. That way I can compare it to last time. It's always good to know if you are trending in a good or bad direction. Love,
Guest guest
just be sure to ask for a copy of the blood test results. you should not have a problem with getting that at all. i always get copies if there are " issues " . " normally " , your doc likely tested a few other things besides the sed. so it is nice to have the info and to compare over time sometimes. i have to say tho, if you feel like you have inflammation, expect the sed rate to be elevated. i always found the sed to tell me what i already knew (how i felt and level of inflammation). jeff > > Hi Terri, > > I found a great web site . . . not sure if it's in the group list or > not, but it has a nice chart to tell us what 'normal' is and explains > some of the illnesses that can cause it. Guest guest
Dear Sara, According to another link we have on the Group site: http://www.healthy.net/library/books/textbook/Section2/esr.pdf This is a pdf file and requires Adobe Acrobat to read. If members need a free Adobe Acrobat program to download, it is on the Group links. There are several sed rate tests, and they have different normal parameters. Printouts of test results usually quantify the normal values for the particular test given. Also, according to this link, there are many reasons for a false increase in the sed rate.
