Guest guest
Dear , Thanks for sending in your completed questionnaire. I have added your info to our Member Medical History Files on the Group site and posted it below. You now have full EN Group Privileges. I am very interested in the relief you have gotten from the anti-histamines. Sometimes sarcoidosis will start with EN. The good news is that in many cases this is a sign that the sarc, will be mild and " burn itself out " . We have members with sarc. here too, so we can help to answer your questions if you are indeed diagnosed with it. I hope you get good news from your doctor. Please keep in touch! Love, ********** ' Case history 3/22/05 1. Your name: (male) 2. Your age:34 3. Your location: Houston, TX 4. Your email address: induce22@.... 5. Your Yahoo ID: induce22 6. Describe your erythema nodosum symptoms or, if you do not have EN or PG, please explain why you wish to join this group. I had a breakout on my left outer shin first. It started out real tender and grew for a few weeks then went away on it's own. Never went to the doctor. Now I have a break out on my right inner shin and it has spread down my leg. I went to a clinic and was prescribed clindamycin. No results. Went to a another doctor that I had seen before for a physical. He put me on Keflex and said it was cellutitis from a strep infection. Samed diagnoses different atibiotic. When I returned this Monday he showed me a med book and it descibed EN. He refered me to a infectious disease doctor. I am going tomorrow. The spot are inflamed and have a fever and very sore when touched. My calve, knee, and ankle area have swollen. I was told to elevate it but it hurts like crazy when I have to get up. 7. List any other health conditions. had allergies when I was young but nothing stuck except the normal pollen/mold allergies. I did work with a company that exposed me to asbestous until I found out and was fired for fear of me blowing the whistle. My mom who is a LVN said I should bring that up to the Infectious Disease Doc. Could that cause sarcoidosis? Plus the blood test said my liver enzymes are a little over normal. Was tested for TB too, but so far no reaction. As for the EN condition I feel fine and do not look sick! I pray that it is not serious!!! 8. State what medications/treatments you take for EN or PG and their effectiveness: Clindamycin, Keflex antibiotics. I have been taking 600mg and it knocks down the swelling for a good 8-12 hours. I started having drainage a runny nose yesterday from pollen I am sure. I did take some Clarinex antihistamines and wow it seemed to be more subdued today. I was suprised to read that one member had luck with antihistamines. I stumbled on this on my own before I read it. 9. When did you first get erythema nodosum or PG? I had swelling in my ankles and knees for no reason around two years ago. Thought it was from the extra sympathy weight I put on before my son was born. Had right knee flare ups and a orthapedic doc found nothing wrong in x-rays. Had my first break out sometime last year and my second about a month ago. Right before the breakout I felt achy and tired like the flu, but it only stuck around for a day or so. Plus since my second breakout I have awaken with pain in my wrist like I might have sprained it or slept on it wrong. The pieces of the puzzle seam to fit. What would you say? 10. How long have you had erythema nodosum or PG? I have not been diagnosed yet but I would say my first real breakout was sometime last year. 11. Do you agree to treat all EN members with respect? of course and give detailed accounts so I might help others. 12.Do you agree to post NO advertisements for any products or service? yes 13 How did you find this group? (Google Search, MSN Search, Yahoo Search, referral from another Group or person?) There was a link on WebMD when I did a search I did for EN and pannticulitis. spelling?
