Kathy's surgery was last Wednesday (14th) as you all know she is a revision from a JI done about 30 years ago. Although she looks terrific and is seemingly on course with most things she developed a fever right after surgery. Although miserable with the hot and cold effects of it she has such a great additude about it all. A few days ago (sorry time seems to run together at this moment) her white count went up. Her fever went away but as Dr. K said there is some reason for the rise in white count. She went through a series of tests UGI, Cat Scan which all showed up normal. Still no reason for the fevor. Her count actually went down yesterday and we figured we were hotel bound this morning. Life had other plans. Her white count went up again this morning and Dr. K said it is much better to go in again to see what is going on if anything than to go on with a guessing game. Kathy went back into surgery this afternoon around 2:30pm with a great additude and such a will as I have never seen... SO positive that all is going to be fine. I cannot say enough about the staff and the way we are both being treated by the nurses and the office staff. I do remember what a great bunch of people so down to earth and compationate, however, this is amazing how accomidating they have been. I was able to walk her down to the surgical rooms and there we laughed and joked once again wih the staff. Dr. Z was walking down the hall and noticed us in the room. He went out of his way to come in and give us reassurement. He is in with Dr. K. Since he did my surgery I guess this makes me feel even better to know two extremely compident surgeons are in with her. Well enough from this end. I hope all of you are doing well. I will try to update you once again when we know more.
