Guest guest
Hey Rich, Congrats on the transplant. Take care of that liver. There are so few of us lucky enough to be given that second chance. NO RACE CAR DRIVING until your doctor says so, and then you will have to take extra precautions against an injury to your abodominal area. If they used the mercedes cut (the upside down Y) then you probably will not be able to safely get behind the wheel of a racer. When they use this cut, they cut all the muscles in the abdomin from just below your diaphram to your naval. There is also the danger of hernias in this area after the surgery. Above everything else just take care and don't rush the healing process. Right now you are still riding the effects of the drugs they gave you during the transplant process. They create a sence of well-being that will gradually wear off. Watch yourself closely for any signs of rejection or changes in the normal process of your body. If you feel ANYTHING is wrong reguardless if there is or isn't, contact your doctor or health provider ASAP. I hope you heal well enough to fulfill your dream.
