Guest guest
Dear Group, As is often the case I was researching one thing an dfound something else of interest. It is an excellent (though it does reference older studies--which is par for the course with limited EN research). http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0689/is_10_52/ai_109218199 << TREATMENT: DISEASE IS SELF-LIMITED Erythema nodosum is usually a self-limited disease. It may help to remove the offending medicine or allergen, if identified. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) usually relieve symptoms. In more severe or recurrent cases, potassium iodide 360-900 mg/d may be helpful, but the best effect is seen when it is used early in the course of the condition (level of evidence: 4). (3) Systemic corticosteroids may help in the short term, but erythema nodosum may recur after discontinuing the medication. In addition, if there is an infectious cause, the use of corticosteroids may exacerbate the infection.>> Many of us have noticed that after a course of prednisone or other steriods the EN comes back even worse than before. Perhaps this indicates a possible infection--and just what Dr. Marshall is suggesting and working on---I posted his very interesting (and promising) work yesterday. I have never seen this mentioned before, so I am happy to find another piece of the EN puzzle here. :-) I do so very much appreciate all the kind words and thoughts being sent to me and the rest of our Group. I love the riddle that goes " What is it that the more you give away the more you have? " The answer of course is LOVE. And if you like " brain teasers " : Riddle Four men sat dawn to play They played all night till break of day They played for gold and not for fun With separate scores for everyone When they had come to square accounts They all had made quite fair amounts Can you the paradox explain If no one lost, how all could gain? Answer The men were musicians [Hehehehe] Love,
