Also, I have found that with Lindsey - using ear candles and sweet oil (both of which you can get from the health food store) works well to stave off the discomfort and sometimes even cure. Guest guest
It's now 11:05 am Eastern time in East Tennessee and it's already 82 F with a heat index of 85. They are calling for the temp to be 88. The humidity level is at 61%, which isn't bad by itself, but combined with the heat, it's rough and makes the air feel stuffy when it's breathed. We haven't had any major issues with ozone yet, but it's a matter of time, I guarantee it. I'm doing pretty good today but I'm staying inside with the AC on. I wanted to go to the Farmer's Market to see what kinds of good produce they have today but it's too hot/humid to walk downtown. I only live about 6 blocks away, but the humidity and pollution levels are too much for my already iffy asthma. Oh well, maybe next weekend. Soo, I'll stay in, take care of my granddaughter, do laundry, and clean house a little. I hope everyone else is doing ok. Guest guest
Well, it's cooled off a little but the humidity is higher now than it was earlier, at 77%---YUCK!!! The temp is sitting at a pleasant 72 but that moisture makes it feel like 75 out there. I'm a little bit congested but doing ok. I'm blowing decent peak flow numbers, so I'm not too concerned right now. We have our granddaughter for the night, and I'm trying to get her to go to sleep. She's being stubborn and I think we may have overdone it with the snacks tonight. LOL That's one mistake I won't make again. Guest guest
It is a hollow wax candle. It is best if you take a paper plate and cut a slit in the center. Then you stick the small end of the candle through the plate and just into your ear. Then light the big end. The burning causes a draft or something. Anyway, it does seem to relieve inner ear pressure and discomfort. At least it helps Lindsey and . I never get ear infections, so I can't personally vouch for it. Guest guest
Well...yesterday was 102 officially. The humidity wasnt too bad at 65% and we were SUPPOSED to get storms...operative word here being SUPPOSED. We didnt. They have already issued a heat advisory for us today b/c the heat indexes are supposed to hit 108. Its 78 at 730 am and the sun was practically red last night so you know its gonna be a hot one today. I took some ibuprofen the other night & went to bed and no more ocean in the ear or earache although I still feel miserable. My peak flows were good the other day when I checked. One of my sinuses feels a bit tender...but Im too plugged up to try the neilmed stuff again. I got the bottle the other day and actually used it once..and it worked great. Then I got really stuffed up again the next day. I guess maybe its the heat doin me in now...I dont know. Two more days till the doctor appt. though. I imagine he is going to want to send me to an allergist at this point. I also had a fan blowing right on me, which I did in Fl too but didnt have issues. I tried repositioning it so it wasnt hitting my face so much last night and I dont feel as congested this morning. Im still doing the mucinex and antibiotics..so maybe im going to get an upper hand on it today..I hope. Stay cool everyone..this heat is crazy. Ann btw..Mike, Im even stranger than you. If I cut the grass it doesnt bother me. If Im home and someone else cuts the grass I start sneezing like a mad woman. Driving by a fresh cut lawn does the same thing. Strange. Here though I let cut it b/c the lawnmower is really finicky and requires some knowledge of when to shut it down and clean the spark plug. (Its not ours...but it does work great for fogging mosquitos). He tries to do it when Im not home. (How sweet he is) A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. See yours in just 2 easy steps! Guest guest
Ann do the NeilMed. Everyday when you are stopped up. It may not feel like it does any good, but it will clean out any junk just sitting there growing nasties. I'm sitting here in Denver. It seems that it may finally quit raining. It didn't rain at all yesterday and not supposed to today either. So the humidity is way down and highs in the low 80's. Just like it is supposed to be. We are going to the museum of science, the IMAX and planetarium today. If we ever get our room changed over.. We are supposed to be moving to a room with a balcony as soon as the other ppl check out & housekeeping cleans the room. The will probably wait until last minute to check out. LOL. I am impatient.. All packed and ready to move and no where to go! I hate just waiting around for other ppl. Guest guest
We keep having loads of random torrential downpours... some only last a few mins, others about an hour. The type of rain that the fastest windscreen wiper speed can't keep up with, and has the road flooded in minutes. As you can probably guess, they keep hitting wehn I'm driving... It's been a much hotter summer this year than before - no record breaking temps yet, but more constant good weather than usual. Jenn Tha can tek t'lass outta Yorkshire...! Guest guest
I don't even ahve air con. Because it rarely gets above 30 degrees C here, it's not really necessary. I don;t have it in my car either, as it would have added on an extra £1000 at least to the cost of the car, and again, I'd only need it for a few weeks a year.
