Did you treat the hep before you were transplanted or will you have to treat now? Guest guest Posted December 31, 2007 Report Share Posted December 31, 2007 My guess is that the HCV needed to be treated first. Long story, but my husband has HCV and also needs a kidney transplant. My understanding is that if he’s going to treat the HCV, it needs to be done first since the interferon will cause a rejection of the new organ if they attempt to treat after. I would guess it’s similar regardless of the organ.
