The article stated: " A person's perception of pain doesn't necessarily depend on the intensity of the stimulus, " Mr. said in a telephone interview from his home in age, 30 miles north of London. It depends on environmental factors, like who is inflicting it. The 40 people who were tested waited longer to say " stop " when a woman was causing the pain than when a man was. " The stereotype we have of women is that they are nurturing, caring, sensitive, that they have empathy, " said Mr. , who administered the experiments for his doctoral dissertation. " We feel safer with them. " Ouch! I think that my empathy-lacking nada inflicted pain on us kids so she could hear us cry. Like the fairy-tale wicked witch, those with NPD traits seem to do it that way. My nada was a BPD/NPD combo. She also inflicted pain on herself -- ie, self-injury. The 'experts' say that that's how the PD'd who do that know that they're alive. Definitely not " normal " . <shaking my head> - Edith PS. Spring is on its way. Its in the 70s - 80s here in sunny So California.
