If everyhting goes OK, does that sound like a long enough time for recovery? I don't want to push, knowing it took over two months to get back after the DS, but part of that was the medical department at work wanting extra documentation before they would clear me to return. And, I don't have the sick time or vacation to spare, so most of this will be on advanced sick time or time without pay. Also.. We need to make a trip to Truckee the weekend of June 27. , our exchange student " daughter " , has to be there to start the trip home that afternoon. Not looking forward to seeing her go, but I deffinately want to be there to see her off. Finally, any suggestions on what to take to Delano and how long a stay we should be planning for? We need to make arrangements for someone to be with while and I are in Delano so she doesn't miss any school during the last month. Thanks.. Guest guest
, I don't know about others experiences, and ALL seem to be different, but I had very little pain, very little recovery time and it was easier and a heck of a lot pain free than my c-section was. You have seen the pictures of my TT/HR and it was done by Dr Z as well. If the ds was like being hit by a bus, for me the tt AND hernia repair was like falling off a bike and just putting a band-aid on it. I had no problems healing except for the fluid retention that had to be drained several (7) times, but no incisional openings, no infections, no pain, very little discomfort at all beyond numbness. Yes, there are lots of horror stories and there are some VERY simple and next to painless stories, and there are some in the middle stories, and you won't know which one yours will be until you go through it! I stupidly listened to just the horror, misery, and extreme pain stories and had myself prepared for the worst pain of my life and I jusy KNEW I would want to die when I woke up, BUT when I DID wake up, I smiled, walked, showered, moved, and life basically went back to normal except for the fatigue...THAT took a while to go away!!! My pain was next to nothing, I didn't even walk hunched over for more than a couple of days! Ray and I were out at a club with friends dancing 1 week post op while I still had steri-strips holding me together! Take all the advice you can get, read it, absorb it, and then remember YOU are YOU, not me, not someone else, and you WILL have a different experience than anyone else did, because you are someone else! Love ya woman, CONGRATULATIONS and good luck!!!! I pray yours goes well and easy! Guest guest
I saw your number as I was walking out and wondered what was up!!! I will call you ASAP!! Remember, there are a lot here who has easy times of it and some who had hard, and there are some who have had severely bad tmes, and you know as well as I do that we do not know until we go through it what it will be like, Just because mine was easy does not mean yours will be! But just because someone elses was miserable does not mean yours will be that either! We all have different experiences, some have complications, infections, wound openings, severe pain, and some simply heal and go on with just some soreness and fatigue. You can't be sure how YOUR body will react. BUT be sure and give yourdelf lots of time to rest, because pain or no pain, you will be tired!! If you are having just the skin removal and no muscle work or hernia repairs, you may have a very easy time of it......we will know when it happens! And you better let us know how it goes and how you are! Silly goose, where have you been??? Guest guest
Jerry... " IF " everything goes well, six weeks should be fine (you have a desk job and no Lifting, correct?) A word of advice...at 6 weeks you will more than likely still swell in your legs from sitting long periods of time. So move as often as you can and elevate as high and as often as you can...especially at night when you sleep. For me the " big " turn around came at 3 weeks and by 6 weeks I was good to go.
