I was headed to Waldbaums to get my favorite Al Fresco chicken sausage with

apples and jalapeno (or whatever they put in this product because it's

WONDERFUL), and I saw there was a flea market going on at a church.

I take a walk, and there in front of me right off the bat is this table filled

with all kind of electronic gizmos. There were hand held curling irons, and Mr.

Coffee makers, and Forman Grilling machines and this kind of gizmo and

that kind of gizmo, when lo and behold I see a gizmo I HAVE NEVER OWNED.

An immersion Blender. BY BRAUN.

Now I have always wanted one of these. To put in the pot and make soups, and to

put in a ziplock bag and make my own breadcrumbs, and to grind stuff and to make

home-made olive oil mayonaise.

So I have no idea if this thing even worked but I had to buy it.

Guess how much??????????????????????????????

$1.00

that's right. $1.00

I went home and I decided to make milk. I got my two quart mason jar, I got my

non fat dry milk, I measured the water and the dry milk in the mason jar, I

stuck in the immersion blender and pressed the switch.

AND WE HAD MILK!!!

OMG, the thing is a powerhouse. I made milk in 15 seconds. Nice, creamy milk.

I then poured a cup of milk, threw in a few ice cubes, used the immersionder and

I had ICE COLD MILK.

Then Alan is eating his cereal with ICE COLD MILK, and he's going, oh my god,

this milk is delicious, and I started waving the blender in front of him saying

" I paid $1.00 for this "

He said " what else does it do? "

Now that's a good question because HOW DID I KNOW? I had never had one before,

so Melody goes on youtube and watches videos.

I then took some frozen blueberries out of my freeze, poured them into a cup,

added a dash of my milk, some splenda, did the immersion blender

AND WE HAD SORBET.

I put some in little ziplock cups and put them in the freezer.

Alan just asked me " do we have any of the blueberry things you made "

So I said " well, yeah but they are frozen solid " . he said " that's how I like

it " .

So right now, he is sitting watching tv, scraping the sorbet out of the little

cups and he just said " Do we have any more of these, THESE ARE GREAT!!!!

lol

For a buck, I don't have to buy any more sugar free ice cream. I can now make

sorbet.

I'm still finding ways to use this item.

Tomorrow I'm going to make my sprout patties.

I'll throw everything in the bowl, and use the blender to chop up the

ingredients.

This is so cool!!!!

I love mine, but it did cost more. I love it for pureeing (sp) soups right

in the cooking pot.

Good catch,
