Guest guest
Hi, My son is 18 and is developmentally delayed. He has a disorder called Wolf-Hirschorn Syndrome. He is the sweetest gentlest child ever. Literally he ask permission to go to the bathroom. He walks, talks, playes etc. He is acts 6-7 in some ways but in others he is a typical teenage boy. A couple years ago he started hitting, throwing and running away with no real reason. The doctors thought it was seizures as it is so out of character for him. He ended up in foster care (after he jumped out of my moving car for no reason and climbed a neighbors fence and jumped in his pool --he can't swim). It has been a nighmare. He is fine in other people's homes or care. He only does these things around his family or people he is really close to. Has anyone ever seen anything like this before? I can assure you he is loved and this is not about attention nor it is strictly behavioral. There is more to this story and I don't know what it is. We have had ever test we can think of. Currently I am thinking maybe it is sexual urges that scare him or he doesn't know how to deal with. I just don't know. The episodes appear to happen out of the blue. Anyone ever heard of this? Thanks so much! Donna
