What are options for secure email messaging with patients, preferably

also inexpensive. I know Medem and Medfusion provide it but at medical

prices. Anyone using non-medical secure email providers? Bob Dellinger

We use RelayHealth. I don’t know

the cost – we get it free through our IPA. They have online labs with

Quest, patient messaging, appt requests, refill requests, webvisits, etc. We’ve

been very happy with it – we’ve used it for about 2 years now.

I use ScramblerMail a little, too. But I only have about a 75% success

rate with it. The others are not able to access the e-mails, I suppose

due to some issue with their computers not playing nicely with the system.

I use scramblermail too. Hardly any of my patients seem to care about secure email and prefer to use regular email. I have one patient who is on narcotics for pain who I communicate on a somewhat regular basis with via scrambler mail. I tried to send all my pts their labs with scramblermail, but found that a lot of people would not open their mail or could not. Now I use regular email except in special cases.Subject: Re: secure emailTo: Date: Saturday, October 18, 2008, 5:09 PM

eMDS comes with a secure email to patient built in. The new version works really

well.
