To register for these seminars, please visit http://www.medicarerights.org/webinars.html " Coverage to Supplement Your Medicare " In Original Medicare—the traditional fee-for-service coveragge offered by the federal government—you can use almost any docttor or hospital in the country and get care when you think you need it. But, unless you have supplemental coverage, you will have to pay a large hospital deductible, an annual deductible for doctors' visits, and 20% of the cost of most outpatient medical care. Because of this, many people with Medicare have additional insurance to supplement their Medicare coverage. Supplemental insurance can cover out-of-pocket costs and may also cover additional services that Original Medicare doesn’t, like emergency care while traveling abroad, care from a home health aide, routine dental care, hearing aids and vision care. To educate professionals, caregivers and people with Medicare about supplemental coverage, the Medicare Rights Center will be providing a free educational web seminar that will explain: • Medicare supplemental coverage and how tto get it through: o a Medicare supplemental policy called a Medigap. o a former job. o a state assistance program. • Medigap policy costs • Your rights to buy a Medigap policy • Additional Medigap rights. When: Thursday, June 14, 2007, 1p.m.—2::30p.m. EST How: All you need is a computer with an Internet connection at 56K or better and a phone (preferably with a high quality speaker). You will be viewing the graphic portion of the presentation over the Internet and listening to the audio portion via a toll-free phone line. Note: Capacity for this training is limited. If you are unable to participate in this training, a recording of the seminar will be made available on this page on Friday, June 15.
