Guest guest
Hi Everyone, My NADA is charming to everyone except me and my daughter. People for years would come up to me on the street or in the supermarket and say how wonderful my NADA was. It used to make me sick. Now it is rare, as she has few friends in the retirement community she lives in, but every once in a while, someone will come up and say what a great bridge player she is. I just smile now (and in my head say " but she was never your mother, you idiot! " ). My mother's new husband's sister-in-law told me my NADA was the most charming woman she had ever met! Yuck!! As for friends, my NADA dumps them as soon as they are no longer useful to her. So now I know to avoid really charming women and especially really charming men(I am single). Their charm is hiding something awful! I have learned that " it is none of my business what other people think of me " . NADA has spent years telling my relatives that I am mentally ill. Oh, well! Still hurts too but not as much. I am not ashamed to see my relatives but they live 3,000 miles away. Not much chance to see them. By the way, Carol, I have been away and am just catching up from last week. You sound like you are in a great place--confident and no longer in daily agony. And how nice for you to have a warm extended family who you can reach out to. Hugs, __________________________________________________
