Guest guest
I wanted to respond to weighty issues - i love it that everyone is concerned with each other and so helpful-- has mentioned her weight and I wanted to know that as well, but it is such a personal question--Since EN is inflammation of the fat tissue--My husband wondered if I shouldn't try to loose 20 pounds... I am considered normal weight (I'm 5 " 6 " a & 140 lb) but I certainly weigh more now at 50 than I did when I was younger... Any thoughts on this - seems to be very slender and she doesn't have frequent outbreaks---I actually don't know if anyone in the group could convince me to loose weight--I'm like everyone else--I get depressed with each outbreak and console myself with chocolate on an almost daily basis... Oh well Im asking it anyway....Vicki Lee

My Doctor has told me to lose weight (been telling me since I was 18)I have changed my diet drastically, but I am unable to exercise much ( i also suffer with oesto arthritus in the knees and hips - and i have an under active thyroid). My GP blames everything that happens to me on my weight. I am a very big lady. at the moment I weigh 15st Ann (UK) >

" My GP blames everything that happens to me on my weight. " I am a very big lady. at the moment I weigh 15st Ann (UK) Hi Ann, The doctors blaming a persons weight for EN seems to be common with people with EN that are over weight. AT the time my EN had started I had lost over 80+ pounds = to 6-7 stones. But most of the doctors that I had been to threw my weight in there as the reason my legs were hurting and swelling. All I could think is I had lost all this weight only to be told my weight is the fault of something that I did not have at almost 100 pounds heavier. Now after almost 5 years of dealing with the pain and immobility of EN the weight I lost has come back plus. The En has left me just disgusted being unable to function normally physically making it hard for me to get sufficient exercise to keep that weight off. There are quite a few members on this site that that are thin. So if weight was the reason for EN we should all be over weight. I hope you feel better about this. Keep you chin up and your shins too.
