Guest guest
Regular Cytomel is very hard to regulate. Even if you get the dosage right, it needs to be taken several times a day. A compounded, timed-released form is much better, but most docs don't work with compounded meds. As for the Armour (or any other dessicated natural thyroid), I think most docs have been taught that Synthroid will provide all the raw thyroid hormone a body needs, and that the body will convert it to a usable form (T3 & T4 - I just can't keep straight which is which) This might be true for most people, I don't know. It's certainly true for some people. Also the belief is out there that the strength varies from batch to batch, and isn't reliable - that it was OK when it was the only choice, but the modern, synthetic med is much better. I don't know if that was ever true, or if it is simply a belief put out by the pharmaceutical PR machine. jillr10@... wrote: > This question has probably been answered 100 times on here but what I the hessitation of most doctors prescribing Cytomel?
