What is the hessitation?

Regular Cytomel is very hard to regulate. Even if you get the dosage

right, it needs to be taken several times a day. A compounded,

timed-released form is much better, but most docs don't work with

compounded meds. As for the Armour (or any other dessicated natural

thyroid), I think most docs have been taught that Synthroid will provide

all the raw thyroid hormone a body needs, and that the body will convert

it to a usable form (T3 & T4 - I just can't keep straight which is

which) This might be true for most people, I don't know. It's certainly

true for some people. Also the belief is out there that the strength

varies from batch to batch, and isn't reliable - that it was OK when it

was the only choice, but the modern, synthetic med is much better. I

don't know if that was ever true, or if it is simply a belief put out by

the pharmaceutical PR machine.
