It is an autobiographical story of a boy growing up with an extremely cold and cruel mother. I would call her more NPD than BPD. The film made me realise that there are mothers a lot worse than mine. The film also touched on how the mother suffered, both from her own abandoning parents and from her own mental illness. I am looking forward to reading the book by Hervé Bazin.
