Great that the first shot and pills went so good.

Now take it easy now, and don't overload yourself.

Many hugs.

Dr. apt, 1 pegasys shot and start of pills. Kept waiting for the bad stuff...I know but it was just nerves. Other than a little tiny achy this morning and that is no more than usual, I feel ok. Doc said it takes awhile to build but I am optimistic. Guess that is where I need to stay and just maybe??? Anyway, I can tell you that getting up at 5:30 am everyday even on weekends is going to be a pain. Not so much a morning person. Well gotta try to get something done today. House is almost in order but the stuff I did last week needs redone and I haven't finished the rest yet. Oh Well...life goes on!! Keep ya posted. Feel good and stay ok.

Even though people like myself found the incivek difficult, I did also have problems (and still do) with my hemoglobin. You may not and hopefully things will be easier on you,,it is possible. Don't forget to keep drinking non-caffeine liquid throughout the day. I was to drink 64oz per day and that is because of my weight. I am doing exceptionally well with the Pegasys and Ribavirin compared to my first two attempts and I honestly think because of the hydration and keeping oil on my body after showering and I've been using conditioner to put on damp hair and I don't have to wash it out for that avoids my head from itching. You keep going strong and what ever comes down your road, you will handle.

The time will go by pretty quickly!!!I did go for a full blood test last Tuesday myself and that will take a couple of weeks for the results of the QuantaSure results to come back but that will let me know if the virus is still undetectable. I will let you guys know the results as soon as I get them.Love,Sheila To: Hepatitis_C_Central Sent: Saturday, July 14, 2012

Hello,It is not an easy row to hoe, this treatment. You will have some really bad days and some OK ones. However,as one who was just pronounced "cured" I can tell you it a journey worth taking. The numbers back it up. The nurse toldme that failure to take the medicine and drinking alcohol will lower the chances of success, but for those who keep on keepin on,ther rate of success is extremely high. It works!Good luck,Maurice To: Hepatitis_C_Central Sent: Monday, July 16, 2012 5:33 PM Subject: Re: day one

Hello all, just a quick check in. Well the " flu " did come after all but no

nausea. Just chills aches cold as all get out, here it is, the middle of July

in SE desert and I have long sleeves, hang out pants, hoodie, footies, blanket

and quilt. crazy!! Have been working and days are no problem really, just

little tired but evenings were rough. Feel good today, been 5 days so guess I

will have a couple of good days then start again. Maurice, it is encouraging

when you know that others are all cured after going through this. My fear for

now is to get to 4 weeks and have to stop although I may want to by then but I

won't unless they make me. Sheila, I really don't have your weight issues

unfortunately, I am on the other end of the spectrum and stress of this process

and a job that I am not too happy in has " weighed heavily " on me!! PUN

Intended!!

My hubby has been very supportive. He has his alarms set and e-mails me or text

me... " Take your pills " . Mornings still suck and I gagged for the first time

trying to eat fat and take pills at 5 frickin 30 in the morning...!!! Bought a

Nutribullet as it was little, low end cleanup and I can mix nuts seeds, oils

into something tolerable, He has my little cup all ready for me in the morning

and brings me coffee asking... do I want reg or decaf...I haven't given up that

first leaded cup yet although have gone to de-caf later in the day. I have

basically given up the 6:00 dinner hour for light snack and then milkshake

before bed. The water drinking is the worst. I have never drank much water in

my life. I never have indigestion or other stomach issues but water doesn't sit

well for some reason and now it tastes terrible too. I have resorted to mixing

drinks of juice, Gatorade water, ginger ale, water, coffee, etc, anything but

just straight water all day. Lucky to get one bottle down. I know I know...I

will work on that!!! No worries on the alcohol...other than missing a periodic

margarita/tequila shot or baileys in my coffee...that was not my thing so that

is a plus.

OK well, enough of the novella, but don't really talk much about this and still

no one at work knows with exception of main supervisor and area manager (cause I

had too)! Keeping up appearances may get harder with time but will deal with

that when I have to I guess!!! Bad enough working in a " good ole boys " industry

as a women, much less one that is sickly!! Basically just doing data entry

computer stuff now as it is something no one else wants to do and it keeps me

looking very busy but it is low end stress and out of limelight!! I can handle

that for now.

Well good wishes and good days to all. Take care of yourselves and I will keep

taking care of me.

(BTW...I know this does sound very cheery but I am sure that one day I may sound

like a raving lunatic, so...HEY!!!)

I understand on the water,,it actually made me sick for I needed electrolytes. I now don't drink much water but Gatorade 2. There is still quite a bit of sugar in that so I have been able to water the G2 down some but I do feel better then just drinking water. No reason to work on drinking more water,,,just try not to drink to much decaf for that does dehydrate your body and that is my biggest problem with the meds. Lately, I have a couple of cokes and OMG, how great they taste, lol. I myself took my medicine at 8am, 4pm and 12midnight, I am not a morning person at all! So I can definitely understand the yuck of 5:30am.I am on month 6 and am noticing my hair is falling out. The

company that sends me the meds (CVS) said losing hair usually starts in the middle of treatment and she is 100% right. I told my husband I can see my forehead is bigger and his response "oh, now you have a fivehead". I thought that was really cute. Good luck to all and talk to you soon!Love,Sheila To: Hepatitis_C_Central Sent:

Hair falling out??!!  Oh dear.  That didn't happen to me last time...It must be that third medication.  Wish I had someone that said cute things to me when that happens.  Well, I'll get through it all.  Tricia

My hair fell out 10 years ago on Peg and Riba, but it grew back in just as beautiful as ever, actually it was stick straight before tx and it has been somewhat curly since it came back in!

My hair got very thin, never lost all of it. But after doing 3 treatments it has never gotten back to the way it used to be. It is a lot thinner(I used to have tons of hair.) I used to have really curly hair, now it is just slightly wavey. But who cares it is hair! LOL And cooler in the hot texas heat.
