Guest guest
I know I read on the list at one point about what exactly SAMe chelates. Or at least I understood it to chelate Antimony and something else. Also, what metals exactly does DMSA chelate? Does it not chelate Aluminum? Is Magnesium Malate a chelator for aluminum? I have also heard conflicting stories, some say ALA is a chelator, others say no, it just crosses the b/b barrier with DMSA, allowing the DMSA to chelate and pull metal out of the cell. What exactly is the truth about ALA? One more question. I thought I saw one time where Andy or someone said that there was an ALA cream that would be good to put on the psoriasis like spots some kids are having while chelating. Andy or anyone else remember any of this? Thanks in advance!!

What exactly is the truth > about ALA? It is a chelator. It is the active material removing mercury from the brain during DMSA/ALA chelation. DMSA does not cross the blood-brain barrier to a clinically relevant degree. ALA does not carry DMSA across the blood-brain barrier to a clinically relevant degree (if at all, I really doubt it does this with even one molecule). ALA is a much more effective chelating agent than DMSA for mercury. > One more question.
