Guest guest
I would want to know which labs he uses and whether these are tests D. Amy would also use. Get an idea on turn-around time for lab results and make sure ou will receive coies of the test actual test results. Make sure he understands the counting rules. S -------------------------------------------------------------- I have an appt. with Dr. Amy in June. Every day that I have to wait is so hard for me! I started to explore other options and I paid $200 to consult with a local DAN Dr. who does chelation. He was a little wierd (very old) and didn't exactly give me the warm fuzzies. He can however get me what I need which is lab tests and I think I could get him to follow Dr. Amy's protocol. So now, should I lay out the $1500 for the lab tests? Or, should I hold out for Dr. Amy? Please Advise! Debbie
Guest guest
I would call Dr Amy's office and find out what tests she does and from where. I would also explain how you don't want to wait that long and I would be a real pain and call often to see if there is a cancellation. Guest guest
Debbie, I don't know how old your child is or what's going on with your child, but if this Dr. is willing to follow Dr. Amy's Protocol, then it may be your best bet to see him until you can get in with her. As far as the tests go, are you following a special diet or anything? Sometimes the best way to start is to just eliminate alot of common allergens from your child's diet and introduce them one at a time. The diet can play a huge role in the recovery of your child. The tests are important, but, in my opinion, not an emergency if you are trying supplements and a special diet. Will you pay less for the tests if you are under the care of Dr. Amy? If so, I think that I would wait on them. If the tests are going to cost the same, then It would probably be a good idea to go ahead and get them done now, so that everything will be done when you actually do get in to see her. At any rate, I think that I would start with vitamins and a good diet and go from there. Just my 2 cents. If you have any more questions, please feel free to e-mail me. Guest guest
I tried to ask that very question (what tests are required for the visit) and her nurse would not give me that information. I do have a March appointment, two actually.... Does anyone have a specific list of tests required by Dr. Amy for chelation? Thanks krnstvn@... wrote: I would call Dr Amy's office and find out what tests she does and from where. Guest guest
Well there is nothing like starting off on the wrong foot. Yes, I believe that I would wait for Dr. Amy. However I would be surprised if the office will tell you what test to run before hand. One feature that I like about this office is that they do not treat your child before they see them. Yes there are " routine " test that you could do. I have been bio medical with for 4 years- we have been there- done that- read about everything else. One thing that I have learned is everyone well be happy to take your money. In the long run you will save money, I feel, by waiting for Dr. Amy. Have you done any testing at all? Are you a newbie? How old is your child? I would place my name on a cancellation list, however I would fore go the " being a pain part " If you call today your appointment for Amy would probably be 4 months away. Remember that there is not a parent on this list that wants to wait that long--my visit is in April with two children. We are busy getting ready as this is a 15 hour drive one way for us. Guest guest
My son is a patient of Dr. Amy. Yes, wait. She will give your son over 2 1/2 hours at her office. She takes a detailed medical history on the whole family. Only the necessary tests for your child are ordered, therefore every childs tests are different. If its a bit much, you can ask her which are the most important. Our first visit was aprox. $1200. The reason they wont tell you on the phone is because they dont have info on your son. If you do tests now, these may not be ones you need to do. I say start out on the right foot and simplify things. About 4-6 weeks after your visit, you will get all the tests results, plus a very specific course of action for your son. This is includes supplements, most of her patients use a few of the same things, then the rest vary. Its not that far away, I would just preload your child now with supplements, and with that you are already getting off to a good start. Let me know how else I can help, Wendi Re: [ ] Should I hold out for Dr. Amy? Guest guest
My son is a patient of Dr. Holmes, and the reason the staff won't give out a 'list' of tests is because there isn't one! She does the tests based on each child's symptoms. You can't go wrong with doing the 'basic' tests , such as hair analysis, stool analysis, vitamin panels, liver profile, etc.... then , based on the results from those, she may or may not order more specific ones. Hope this helps! Guest guest
I don't know about this waiting bit. I just don't get the whole problem with ourhealth care. How can all these autistic spectrum children have high metals in there system and there is not an urgency to get the metals out. How come more doctors don't care. Why isn't this covered. If a child disappeared from a home the whole community would be searching for that child. Mercury toxicity is a huge lead in finding missing children but we all have to wait. Can't the children start the protocol, see what is coming out and go from there. It seems everyone starts out the same any way. Three months is a long time in the life of a child. I myself may make an appointment with Dr. AMY. but I'm not waiting to start chelation. Good luck to you nne > > I would call Dr Amy's office and find out what tests she does and from where. > I would also explain how you don't want to wait that long and I would be a > real pain and call often to see if there is a cancellation. > >
Guest guest
This is just a personal opinion here but you asked... I just don't get the whole > problem with ourhealth care. How can all these autistic spectrum > children have high metals in there system and there is not an urgency > to get the metals out. How come more doctors don't care. Why isn't > this covered. IMO, I think that to admit heavy metal toxicity in our children would be an admission of guilt on the part of the medical communtiy. I mean what are they going to say?? " UH, we injected you son with mercury and now it's causing him problems so I'll need another couple of thousand dollars to get it out of him. Oh and by the way, please don't sue me. It was an accident. I didn't realize that mercury was so toxic. " I just don't see that happening myself. But that's just my opinion. > > > > I would call Dr Amy's office and find out what tests she > does and from where. > > I would also explain how you don't want to wait that long > and I would be a > > real pain and call often to see if there is a cancellation. > > > >
Guest guest
Darla and all: I think we all have to sign some kind of release to immunize our children. I am not blaming doctors. I believe the doctors wanted to protect children but to be aware of a problem and to not look into it. That is negligent. And I am sure there would be some way to get around the immunization being the cause. The government knows there is a problem with the thimersol, They have a vaccines w/o out it, don't they? However, they have to use up all the old vaccines. This is negligent. I don't even think they have changed the schedule. One vaccine at a time would be alot safer. By the way, I'm sure your right. nne > > > > > > I would call Dr Amy's office and find out what tests she > > does and from where. > > > I would also explain how you don't want to wait that long > > and I would be a > > > real pain and call often to see if there is a > cancellation. > > > > > >
