Guest guest
I've just joined this mailing list after a year's absence and have been reading the daily digests for about a week. I've had to create little note cards to keep track of who has what so I can better understand where they are coming from. Would it be ok or appropriate or acceptable or whatever if everyone used a brief sig line mentioning their key disorders? I have a relatively generous quantity of resource material for naturopathic treatment of a host of disorders and would like to share these here, or at least make them available privately, since sharing would result in extremely copious posting. (Not a sales gimick) I myself rely on diet and vitamin/mineral/herbal supplements in the treatment of my disorders, which are every bit as costly as prescription medication and just as many pills to take but far less debilitating and promote health more naturally and gently (and effectively, IMHO). Have treated my hypoglycemia successfully for over 20 years and am treating my Type II diabetes with Vitamins, etc., only. Also treat my husband's psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, and share naturopathic information for a friend's MS, another friend's cancer, a third friend's FMS and osteoarthritis, a fourth friend's diabetes and knee problems, two co-worker's migraines, another co-worker's carpal tunnel, just to name a few. Some of us have ten on more " key disorders " -- wouldn't make for a very brief sig line:-) I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I find it discouraging when I see all those things listed after my name. I am more than a bunch of diagnoses. Besides, even though I may have some of the same problems as someone else, we may need to be treated very differently because of cross diagnoses. > I have a relatively generous quantity of resource material > for naturopathic treatment of a host of disorders and would like to share > these here, or at least make them available privately, since sharing > would result in extremely copious posting. (Not a sales gimick) It's nice of you to offer. Private posting works best for sharing lots of material. We don't have very many moderators and copious posting would really bog down the list. That wouldn't be fair to anyone. > I myself rely on diet and vitamin/mineral/herbal supplements in the > treatment of my disorders, which are every bit as costly as prescription > medication and just as many pills to take but far less debilitating and > promote health more naturally and gently (and effectively, IMHO). I used to be able to treat almost everything with diet and supplements. Alas, those days are over. I still eat a healthy diet and still take my supplements. They do help, but surgeries and modern medicine eventually had to get into the picture. IBS with C is one of my lesser, but perpetually annoying problems. It occasionally flattens me, but I have been able to treat it without resorting to Zelnorm and the like. I haven't been able to win the battle with it entirely, but I keep on trying. If you have some herbal suggestions for that, I would appreciate it if you would email me at: lyndi @ att.net. (Please don't leave any spaces in the email address. I broke it up, so Yahoo wouldn't mangle it) Thanks -- Lyndi
Guest guest
You're right, that would be tedious after awhile and I can understand how depressing that could get. I have more problems than the three I list in my sig line; those are just the major diagnoses. I also have some kind of tenderness affecting my tailbone, for which I use a pillow to sit on everywhere I go. But an MRI found nothing significantly wrong, so I don't even have a name for that one. I agree, I really didn't want to over-post info, because that invariably leads to objections. Yes, actually I do believe I have some detailed info on IBS, have a friend whose daughter-in-law was recently diagnosed with it. But discovered this info long before her diagnoses. I will put what I have together and email you privately. Considering how big that file of info you sent me was, I am sure that there would be objections to posting it to the group <grin> > Yes, actually I do believe I have some detailed info on IBS, have a > friend whose daughter-in-law was recently diagnosed with it. If you write to her, I betcha she'll send it along to you. :-) Thanks again Grace -- Lyndi
