Alana, I actually read someplace earlier this month that they have found that glucosamine alone is better than glucosamine with chondroitin for joint pain. It mightve been Readers Digest...if I remember where I saw it Ill post the link.

This is also one reason I dont trust alot of these "studies". For one thing, they dont always test a significant number of subjects to provide a true representation of the effects. A good example of this...the largest womens fitness study ever done only included 500 women in one state. Curves has entered into a study with Baylor University with this new Curves Smart program where everyone who uses the Curves smart is included as part of a new womens fitness study...at least this is what our Curves owner had told us.

Another good example of a study that declared a drug safe and then those results were reversed when it was mass prescribed was Vioxx and I believe even Celebrex came under some serious scrutiny. Another one for diabetes was Reglan....my dad was on that and suffered the "rare but serious" side effects of edema in his legs to the point where his skin broke open...and then they pulled it off the market b/c so many people were having this same "rare" side effect.

I just dont trust alot of studies...theres too much "this is safe" and then a year or two later they change their minds. Granted, we have to start somewhere...but the way these studies are usually funded encourages the host of the study to come out with favorable results for the object of the study. It needs to be more of a double blind study where the funding party doesnt have the incentive to encourage a result in their favor...or something. A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above.
