New to group & question on Meds

Hi - My name is . Thank you so much! I have read several

messages over the past week & finally feel I am not alone in what my

family has been living with. My daughter who is just turning 8 was

diagnosed with ADHD & migraines in March. She's has sensory issues

since 3 yrs old. In June she was diagnosed with OCD, PDD &

Tourettes.

Things began to get out of control when she developed migraines at

school because of the stress related to things such as having to sit

on the carpet for story time (germ!!).... so many many other

things .... buttons are " bad " , she can't ever touch them (this

began at 3 - doctor's though she would out grow it). When I had to

carry her to the car because of a melt down in public (I had on a

shirt with buttons)... she stripped of all of her clothing in a

frantic rage ... my buttons had " touched her " . We drove home with

her wrapped in a blanket, she walked inside that way - got dressed

in " Clean " clothes. This was when the doctor's agreed that she did

need an evaluation. As I read the messages these situations all

sound so familiar - the rituals, hand washing until hands are raw,

routines that " must " be done, the bad things that are " going " to

happen, staying awaake to perform the same task repetatively, the

melt downs, the hoarding, the frustration, the social impact, the

sibling issues... and I am struggling to learn how to handle them. I

have so many questions.

Reading through messages I finally know we are not alone. Thank you

for the information and advice I have already recieved by reading

messages & responses that have been posted recently. It has helped.

We haven't been given a treatment plan for the OCD yet. We have seen

a therapist since March - She doesn't have alot of OCD experience -

but she is helpful in many areas.

My first question - My daughter is on Amitryptaline for Migraines &

Focalin for ADHD. The Pshychatrist would like my daugter to begin

Zoloft. I know she needs the OCD meds... I am nervous about having

her on three stimulants. Is there anyone who has had experience with

Amitryptaline & Focalin (for ADHD) & meds for OCD as well. Does

anyone have any experiences they can share as to if this combination

can be effective ... or maybe different combinations that were

effective .... thanks so much. -
