I didn't feel that Shauna was self promoting but rather responding to criticism from previous posts. Obviously, people feel differently and what works for some doesn't work for others. My daugther has attended Summit for 2 summers and have helped us run our home program for the past 4 years. They were instrumental in potty training my daughter with severe Autism - a HUGE accomplishment! We have loved our experiences with Summit.

Shauna and Summit Learning Center have been wonderful for my family.

My daugther attended school at Summit for 2 years and we have worked with Shauna

for 3+ years. It has been money well spent for us! I am very grateful for all

they have done for my daughter.

like to make a statement regarding recent posts on here. ABA schools, centers,

and home programs are not easy to run and organize. It takes A LOT of work, as

most of y'all know that are running a home program. Even recent posts on here

have discussed how difficult it is to keep therapists and hold a schedule with

them. It's very difficult and it's hard work what the therapists are doing with

your children. I work very hard with these children and I can tell you that

money is not my motivation (I have my BCBA and I don't charge anywhere NEAR the

BCBA rate). You can talk to any of the families I work with. Opening Summit has

been a great experience and each year things get better and better.

like running a bunch of home programs, without placing the hassle on the parent

to keep therapists and schedule them. With that being said, sometimes people are

out sick, sometimes therapist just don't work for your child, and sometimes the

work is just too much for a therapist to handle. When that happens, as parents

doing home programs know, there are times when you need to change therapists,

change companies, etc. It's just part of running an ABA program. Parents are

happy with different aspects of ABA programs, and this happens at Summit

too....just like it happens at ALL the other ABA centers in Atlanta. We have

families come to us from other centers who have been very unhappy with their

services, yet happy with ours. Then we have families who leave Summit and go to

other centers and are happier with their services. People have very different

expectations. If we did not

are not the norm at Summit. We have many very happy families and happy students

making great progress who have been with us for upwards of 4 years.

teachers/therapists at Summit. They are WONDERFUL people who LOVE working with

these children. Summit is not some big corporation looking to take money from

parents. We try to keep our tuition as LOW as possible and we have worked with

many families who did not have enough money to attend Summit, so that they could

attend. Our teachers are not paid $12.00/hr as recently stated. They are paid a

competitive rate based on their experience. Like I said, Summit is like running

a bunch of home programs. So our therapists are paid competitively with what a

therapist would make in a home program. Most of our teachers have either their

bachelor's degree in something like Psychology or they are working towards their

bachelor's. The pay they are getting is competitive with their

degrees/experience. Most of our therapists have been at Summit for at least 2-3

years and some of them for 4 or

long. This is a difficult field to work in, which makes it difficult to always

find/keep the right people. How we run Summit helps keep our tuition low. If you

look around, most places around the US are at least $4000/month to attend.
