Guest guest
Yesterday was pretty much doctor day. At noon I went to get my allergy shot. That is something I have to do once a week. They recently doubled the concentration of the serum so it did make a red knot on my arm for a little while but nothing major. At 4pm I was scheduled to talk to the Doctor about the results of my A1C (diabetes) and about asthma. My A1C was 6.6 which is still in the okay zone but it was up from 5.8 on the last test which is not so good. Hopefully now that I am back on the Byetta, the number will go back down when I do the next test. As far as the asthma goes, well they increased the strength of my daily inhaler plus gave me a pill so now I am on Advair plus Singulair for daily use and Proventil for emergencies. They also gave me another cortizone shot, a one time dose of Prednisone and prescribed another dose pack of steroids for now because I have still been having a hard time breathing and I have fluid in my ears. The cortisone and predinose are helping me to feel better quicker and hopefully the new meds will help me keep it under control. It is my hope that after another year of allergy shots that neither allergies or asthma will be as much of an issue because I will have built up resistance to the things that I am allergic to. The doctor also stressed to me that I need to either get rid of the cat or keep him outside and that I was going to have to put my foot down and make husband do all his smoking outside. I dont want to be ugly but living with a smoker all these years plus that I have always had allergies, is probably the main reason that I now have asthma or at least now is the reason why it is getting so much worse.
