Guest guest
Hi , I AM a nutcase some days! is the one dead set against prescription. I'm the one who keeps mentioning it every so often at these bad times (a little more recently!). I tell him " what if.... " as in a med just might help a GREAT deal and he wouldn't have to go thru all this, etc.... So this week are upping the inositol to 4x a day (had been 3 tho I have to say that hasn't been steady when we get busy; sorta hate to think what we might mess up do with " real " prescription meds if we can't even manage the inositol routinely!). My first thought to try is Prozac. Don't know why I'm picking that, it's just in my mind; plus we have to stick to liquid meds. Today I'm taking off from work sick as was up late again, which means I was up late. I was thinking of calling in so I could try and nap off/on today but then woke up at 6:30am and was already having a " bad OCD day " !! So I'm calling in. I know it's not supposed to matter WHAT is going on in 's head but I REALLY want to know! He's got all these new little touching things (touching his face), it looks like he's holding his breath sometimes (says he's not), then I asked if he was smelling his fingers/hand or something (says no); but I worried he was holding his breath, covering his face/nose and was wondering if he was getting some fear of germs or something and we might be beginning contamination fears; but he says it's nothing to do with germs.... He looks really weird doing all that though....facial expressions, eyes moving, touching his face, " holding " breath or whatever, etc.... I've tried being understanding, I've tried being tough. I've tried encouraging him to boss back OCD, tried telling him to just let the thoughts come (flooding)..... Maybe he'll just have to hit bottom before he wants a med. Or maybe if the inositol has totally pooped out, he'll realize it and want to try a med. We'll see, I guess. I'm sorry about Annie's bad day! Riding in a vomit smelling truck is hard on the average person, poor Annie, to put up with the fear/anxiety, sitting in it AND the smell! I guess that was too much exposure! And then to get lost! I was the worst carsick person growing up, my sister & brother HATED going on trips with me each summer. I'm still one of Annie's biggest fans as I know how hard she's tried battling OCD and accomplished. Plus dealing with her school issues. I hate she's getting depressed, do you think that's OCD or just anxiety or....? School begins here Aug. 7, will NOT be ready. I hate this, this is a new school AND high school where peers, looks, socializing and all that mean so much. And if today were a school day, he just would not be capable of going I don't think. He's never missed a day of school due to OCD, but these past couple of days I'm wondering if that might be coming up! Well, let me end this and call in to work. I doubt I even get a nap today! > Hi > I'm sorry is having such a rough time recently. Guest guest
In your shoes I'd make a deal with - " in exchange for a few months trial of Prozac or something, we'll... " whatever might motivate him. High school will be so hard if he is still so symptomatic, poor guy. Others have had success with harsher ultimatums (you WILL take this or you won't...) but that doesn't sound like 's kind of thing to me. Annie sniffs her finger tips a lot. Used to sniff all kinds of things, but thankfully it has been reduced just to fingertips. It's a tic apparently. Pretty weird. She has started new facial tics as well. Poor kid. I dread the next few years for her - junior high is pretty awful even without " issues " . I hope you got some rest today, and I really hope you can sleep tonight!!! Guest guest
You really need to try meds, it could make an 80% difference. It is so hard to make the decision but you already know what it is like without it. Tell your husband it will bring your baby back to how he is supposed to be. He has to try!
