Shanon how frustrated you must feel. My experiences are to look at

this in a different way. My son also shows no allergies. Yes yes

yes, keep going. I know this is so hard. I look at it this way.

I also went GFCF and then BED because I was nursing my baby girl.

Going through the experience taught me so much about my own body and

how food affects me. I'm not on the spectrum, but boy do I feel

better, eliminate better, sleep better etc... when I stay at the vey

least GFCF, whole foods as possible, and cultured foods.

My thinking is regardless if they show allergies, our babies are SICK

and it makes sense to me to give them the most digestable and highly

nutritious foods we can get into them.

I don't have the money to do a scope or pill cam on my son. We're

spending our money on Hbot and everything else. I bet a picture of

what is going on inside would give all of us another piece of data to

understand how important it is to stay at this.

Shanon I don't know your family or child. I don't really know.

Follow your instincts. You may be posting because this is so

frustrating and you may know that you need to keep at this, but you

need support. A GFCF diet is good for any human.

If you aren't seeing a positive direction with diet we may need to

get more advanced and take more things out and put more things in.

It's not fair that any of us have to do this, but know that we are

all in this together. You are not alone. If you need some

direction about the next step with diet that may help, I'm here.

I was always told dark circles under the eyes indicate a food allergy.

I know this is off topic, but I want to say how

great I think this group is. Also, thank you

Stan, for not restricting this list to MB12 +

Valtrex questions.

my boys didn't respond to the GFCF diet either, but did to the SCD

diet, but not as much as I had hoped. They responded more to the SCD

diet. If this doesn't help, I don't know what I will do, either. I

feel your disappointment and frustration. I am depressed myself.

My Son did not show allergies to any grains yet does well on a

no grain diet similar to SCD. It is supposed that the bad bacteria

and other things in the gut are feeding on the grains and then

excreteing their toxins, causing behaviours. This problem is

different than an allergy but still affects his health and therefore

behaviours. We have done a 6 month course of anti fungals and valtrex

now maintaining with oil of oregano. (Canadian protocols are a bit

more reserved than American) We are slowly reintroducing the grains

into his diet that he hasnt seen for almost a year. We have been GF

for over 5 years and are still staying GF/CF/DF/SF but would like to

reintroduce rice etc. The gains we have made in the last year with

extra diet restrictions and meds have been excellent and we will do

whatever it takes to keep them.

I know it is hard to keep restricting the diet but if you are not

seeing gains on gluten free/dairy free try removing soy and other

known problems for a week at a time. Your black circles should soon

disappear. For the black circles make sure your vitamins are getting

absorbed somewhere other than the gut. Like nasal or sublingual B

vitamins, zinc etc.

Keep up the good work

dark circles, yes I have to take more out for my son again,

he is reacting to foods. Thanks for reminder, this has been on my

mind.

Rhonda,

I follow BED with great success, but I'm looking to learn more from

SCD. Maybe cultured foods can help, food combining huge for us.

There's more to try, hang in there. Maybe parts of both diets can

work for you.

I have two kids on the spectrum and my older son responded a lot

better to the gfcf diet than my younger, but I keep him on it and

they both showed no reaction to the allergens on the tests. It is

healthier. Even for us parents.

Good Luck.

Dark circles under the eye is also B12 deficiency. Have you read about feingold diet? shun away from high phenolic foods, salicylates, dyes, & additives; read the entire food label front & back. Search the inbox that pertain to high oxalate foods & avoid them. That's why I cook dinner from scratch. But, we eat eggs and use egg in baking.Even if you dont see any changes, continue the gfcf, corn-free, etc. anyway. Reduce his meat intake to 2oz bc of ammonia buildup. Took over a year b4 I see the benefits of gfcf on my son. rhondamasengale wrote: my boys didn't respond to the GFCF diet either, but did to the SCD diet, but not as much as I had hoped. Yes, I just found out about BED and I am already trying to get things

ready for trying some fermented veggies. I can't wait to try it out.

Problem with my guys is that the Sarccharomyces sp. has colonized

them and it makes them MORE autistic! Great Plains said that it was

unusual for that to happen, but it can. I have to be careful what

types of fermentation products I use. Thank you for referring me to

it!

There are much more than dark circles under the eyes when it comes to allergic reactions; it can range from swelling to stop breathing to runny nose. Reactions can appear as a rash, crankiness, stomach pain and more. Also my son has seizures when he has gluten in his diet and no seizures when we take it out.

IT IS FOR HEALING NOT FOREVER...that is the mantra in our house. It

makes it much easier to cut things if you remember that the

eliminations of healthy for normal gut and immune systems foods are

NOT forever, so the sooner the better.....
