Guest guest
Good Morning All, My name is Rhoda Forrest and I'm an SLP-A and from VT. A book was suggested by a friend for me to read as I've worked with students with autism that are non-verbal. I am no expert, just lots of experience and when I read a book that I feel needs to be read by parents to help them help their child, I speak. The book is titled Carly's Voice Breaking Through Autism, and it's written by Arthur Fleischmann and his non-verbal daughter Carly Fleischmann. Well known in our circles, Temple Grandin endorsed this book and I quote, " Carly Voice makes it very clear that a non-verbal person with autism has a rich inner life Typing independently enabled Carly to express wit, explain her sensory problems, and show that a good mins has been freed.
