Guest guest
How much fruit is she eating/drinking? Also consider going CF.CherylMy three year old daughter has chronic diarreah. She is GF and doesn't eat much meat at all. Last week she suddenly became interested in potty training-yeah! Every day she would have a dirty diaper-diarreah. (a pretty full diaper) Well, now she is going a little bit every day but not like she was. Sometimes she still goes a lot but she will also go a couple days where she doesn't go much at all but it is still diarreah. What can I do for her. Can she be constipated with diarreah? It doesn't make sense. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks,
Guest guest
The cycle of diarrhea and constipation can be caused by a pathogen overgrowth combined with foods high in iron and/or sulfur and a few other ingredients. The iron and sulfur feed an overgrowth of pathogens which then produce nasty chemicals like hydrogen sulfide or sulfur dioxide. These chemicals literally burn the lining of the intestines and are promptly flushed out (diarrhea) and then it either swells shut from inflammation or clamps down for a couple of days to repair the injured section (constipation). Keeping away from chocolate, beef and other iron/sulfur foods can stop this cycle from flaring up. Chocolate is enemy number one in my colon. Guest guest
She has been eating some chocolate. Not a lot but maybe it affected her like you said since she never gets it otherwise. (Aren't holdays great?) I will make sure she isn't eating any more and see if that helps. It was just strange that she was having tiny bits of diarreah and nothing else. Thank you! -------------- Original message -------------- The cycle of diarrhea and constipation can be caused by a pathogen overgrowth combined with foods high in iron and/or sulfur and a few other ingredients. Guest guest
I had cut back on her milk but I think I will give an elimination a try. She likes her fruit. She would live on it if she could but she really hasn't had too much lately. I'll see how she does without the milk. (Oy--this will be tough!) thanks, -------------- Original message -------------- How much fruit is she eating/drinking? Also consider going CF. Cheryl My three year old daughter has chronic diarreah. Guest guest
Yes, she can be constipated. The diarrhea coming out is what manages to squeak out around impacted feces. Sounds like you need a good probiotic and an anti yeast protocol. Are you using these? LIke maybe Threelac and GSE. Also, remember lots fruit is not always good either. Guest guest
I think I need to start a new probiotic. And I'll rev up our anti yeast protocol. she is so hard to get this stuff into! She absolutely can't see me add anything to her drink/food or she won't touch it. I am trying to cut down on her fruit. It's just hard when she doesn't eat much to start with. I was thrilled she ate a hard boiled egg for breakfast today! --------- Re: poop question--what's going on?????? How much fruit is she eating/drinking? Also consider going CF. Guest guest
Try getting a medicine dropper from the local drugstore. Empty the contents of capsules or crushed tablets into a small cup. Mix in a syrup that she likes, honey, etc. (we use one called Orasweet that we have our local pharmacy order for us). Suck it all up into the dropper and if she tolerates the flavor of the syrup she will suck those supplements right down. I went thru all that hiding in foods business with my son too. He finally stopped trusting me and wouldn't eat anything in a bowl/jar/cup/plate, etc. that he could not pick up and bite. It was horrible. Give her food as food and let her enjoy it or you may cause even more problems. www.kirkmanlabs.com sells syrups too that can be used for supplementing. If it works for your child the way it now does for mine, supplementing will be so much easier for you! Good luck. Re: poop question--what's going on?????? How much fruit is she eating/drinking? Guest guest
Great idea! I will have to invest in one of those syrups. That sounds like that will work for her---As much as she won;t take her supplements, she loves taking medicine! You just made my life easier--thanks so much! --------- Re: poop question--what's going on?????? How much fruit is she eating/drinking? Also consider going CF. Guest guest
This is def a case for enzymes...bc as you will read on enzymestuff site you can get them into food easily as they are not fragile like probiotics. Probiotics you can mix into homemade yogurt...get the starter from GIPro health or from Custom Probiotics. It is so easy and this is the only dairy I would give...do goatr milk yogurt first and after a few days of really restricted diet...she will gobble it up. My dd does with a drizzle of yogurt bc she gets no other sweets....she askes for apples and raisin now...it used to always be junk...you can reshape their tastes.... > > > > My three year old daughter has chronic diarreah. Guest guest
Maybe next week I can order some "supplies". She is so addicted to dairy! But luckily last night she wa sgood aout it. unfortunately this morning I gave her GF cereal WITH milk for breakfast! I am going to get some Vances and see if she will take that as a substitute. She likes water with ice which is good but when she wants milk and can't have it--meltdown! I have wanted to do the SCD yogurt but never ordered a maker. I think I am going to have to invest in one. It should really help these guys. -------------- Original message -------------- This is def a case for enzymes...bc as you will read on enzymestuff site you can get them into food easily as they are not fragile like probiotics. Guest guest
Until you are ready to do what needs to be done at least get enzymes so that she can digest that milk, mom....do not let them start behaviors like meltdowns that you will then have to alter even after there are no food reactions...it is better to pull the milk, but barring that, break it down with pwerful enzymes...you will get sick of nuying them and be more motivated to just pull the stuff that must be pulled... > > > > > > My three year old daughter has chronic diarreah.
