Guest guest
flwr, I'm glad your Doc has discovered your trigger for your EN. I don't have any clue what would have caused mine. Over the years and in hindsight I have many other symptoms which could or could not be realted to my EN. I have not had a biopsy done, my clinic Doc diagnosed my EN in Aug/04. >From: Kwflwr@... >Reply-To: erythema_nodosum_Group >To: erythema_nodosum_Group >Subject: Re: Frustrated >Date: Mon, 20 Dec 2004 15:27:39 EST > >HI, > >I WAS JUST DIAGNOSED WITH EN TWO MONTHS AGO AND AFTER MUCH TESTING BY MY >IMMUNOLOGIST AND MY DERMATOLOGIST'S BIOPSY WE HAVE NARROWED IT DOWN TO >CELEBREX >WHICH I TOOK ONLY ON RARE OCCASIONS BUT THAT PARTICILAR WEEK I TOOK 3 OVER >THE >COURSE OF 6 DAYS AND BAM!!! Guest guest
Dear Holly, A biopsy can identify EN, but not the cause. I can't begin to tell you how many times I thought I had figured out the cause of my own flare ups only to be proven wrong. Since EN goes into remission spontaneously, it is so hard to figure out. I understand your frustraton. I've had 36 years of it. I try to concentrate on the good things in my life and enjoy what I still can...which is plenty! Here is a little exercise I once learned. When you feel awful, list the things that are still ok. If you feel bad all over, but notice your little finger doesn't hurt , notice that and so on. You'd be surprised at the things you notice by doing this. And while I'm at it I like to bless each part of me as I notice the sensations through out my body. I know it may sound silly to some, but I thank my organs one by one for contributing to my well-being. Every part of me is acknowledged for it's contribution. I thank all my senses--eyes, ears, nose etc. All my vital organs like heart and lungs and liver. I'm not saying this is going to help, but it can't hurt and it does remind me of the things I still have to be grateful for. And if you are a spiritual person, you can thank God for your life. Of course, this should be done in a quiet place when you don't have disturbances. :-) Love, __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Thanks . You're right, I do have many things to be thankful for...I seem to forget about those things when I feel like a piece of you know what. And you're right bout the biopsy not pin- pointing the cause. I have had a hunch bout the SLE from the very begining....I have a chronic kidney condition, my hair is noticibly falling out, I get hives and rashes w/o any explaination, I have a constant low-grade fever, I'm exhausted, I (and 2 other people) think I have a reddening on my face, I have arthritic symptoms (this may only be related to my EN), I have EN, I see spots infront of my eyes and get dizzy (like vertigo), I get recurrant headaches, I have an elevated Sed rate : 53mm/h at last check....it goes on and on....However, I do have my life, a family, and very happy, active children; a lot of good things. Yes, I can thank God for those things and for being able to talk to others who do know how I feel. Thanks! Guest guest
Good Morning, Jackie! SLE is a form of Lupus, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus; here's a link: http://www-medlib.med.utah.edu/WebPath/TUTORIAL/SLE/SLE.html I had thought for a while that maybe I had this too. But there are too many symptoms that I don't have! Now that I'm off all meds, I should look back into it, perhaps . . . I might be able to differentiate between drug side effects and what's actually going on in my body. The symptoms are familiar at times. Have a great day! Guest guest
Thank you M for your reply. I will read this tonight when I have more time and I don't have to get ready for work.
