Guest guest
Hi Holly, The bumps disappeared within a couple of months. The Dr's tested me for all sorts and to start off with thought the EN was caused by a chest infection I had earlier in the year but then this was ruled out. I was seen by 4 Consultants and 11 Doctors whilst I was in hospital as I was apparently an interesting case. I was asked alot of interesting questions, for example, had I been to a forrest, as at first they also thought I might have had Lymes disease. I got really fed up and felt that noone understood and when I was unable to move properly I often told them it felt like they didn't believe me. Noone would pretend they had this would they??!! YOU ARE NOT ALONE ...in your thinking that they don't believe you. There are others here too who will agree. Doc's have no clue what we go through and are going through with EN. In my personal opinion(and experiences), the majority don't know anything about it and make the asumption that there's nothing that can be done about it and come across as if they just don't care. I believe that this is based on ignorance. Did your Doc look for an underlying cause for your EN? When did your bumps disappear?Holly H>>Reply-To: erythema_nodosum_Group >To: erythema_nodosum_Group >Subject: New to group>Date: Tue, 28 Dec 2004 16:02:22 -0000>>>>Hi,>An introduction.>I was diagnosed with EN June 2003 and was admitted to hospital for 3>weeks. Guest guest
Dear Fiona, No one would pretend to have EN! Well, maybe a spammer, which is why we ask so many questions when people join up. Most likely your doctors were just unfamiliar with EN and were trying to learn from you. Sadly we patients know more about it than our doctors in many cases. Love,
Guest guest
Fiona Yes, that is an interesting question. WOW! a lot of Doc's were interested in your case..did any of 'em actually help you? Ofcourse NOBODY would put this on and pretend this. Having EN affects every aspect of my life..from bathing, to being a mom, my sex life...EVERYTHING. Who would pretend this kind of thing? Nobody. Stems back to ingornace (in my opinion) on the Doc's part. I hope you're able to find a Doc who will take you seriously. Have you had any new bumps apear? Did/have you ever have/had any problems with arthritis before EN? > >Reply-To: erythema_nodosum_Group >To: erythema_nodosum_Group >Subject: RE: New to group >Date: Tue, 28 Dec 2004 22:53:51 +0000 (GMT) > >Hi Holly, >The bumps disappeared within a couple of months. Guest guest
Hi Holly, The Dr's have basically given up on finding a reason why this happened to me. I now have to see the Rheumatology consultant every few months as a check up but he tells me to just keep exercising as it will do it good, yeah right!! It is so frustrating that I often say to the Dr, well why do you keep wanting to see me if there is nothing that you can do. The answer is that I am an interesting case! Fiona > >Hi Fiona! Guest guest
Hello all! I am looking for a doctor in the northwest Houston area who will prescribe armour and work w/ my situation. I had thyroid surgery two years ago and had my right and middle sections removed. I am currently taking armour, but still do not feel back to normal. Since my surgery I have gained weight and still feel fatigued a lot of the time. I am taking three grains - 2 in the morning and one in the afternoon. My last test results are as follows: T4 - .99 (.61 - 1.76 limits) TSH - .134 (.45 - 4.5 limits) Triiodothyronine - 3.1 (2.3 - 4.2 limits) Any suggestions are appreciated!
