smokeSmokers who step outside still bring their leftover poisons back through the door -Smokers huddle outside office buildings, head to the garage to light up after dinner, and refuse to pull out a cigarette until they're in their cars, alone. They do all they can to protect the people they love from the dangers of cigarette smoke. And still, they can't. It turns out that smokers -- even when they step outside -- are magnets for 250 poisonous gases, chemicals and metals in cigarette fumes. When they head back into their homes or workplaces, they carry those toxins with them, on their clothes, skin, hair, even in their breath.Researchers have found tobacco grime in dust and on coffee tables in the homes of people who smoke, even if they don't smoke there. And they've found a metabolized version of nicotine in the hair and urine of children who live in those homes.
