Guest guest
A Boy Called IT by Dave Pelzer and the following books in that series about his life and experiances with nada are really good. A classic movie about the experiance of having a nada is Mommy Dearest.
Guest guest
I watched Mommie Dearest again this weekend. (For those who may not know, it's the story of Crawford's childhood with her Mother, the actress Joan Crawford. ) It's a good portrayal - especially by the little girl acting as young . Parts of it are pretty difficult for me to watch because of my nada's startling physical resemblance to Joan Crawford, and parts are just distasteful anyhow, because of the subject matter. I have heard that the book is far better than the movie, and of course when it was published, it created an uproaor, partly due to people percieving it as the coldhearted intentional destruction of a beloved icon. Joan Crawford's image was even more carefully crafted than the average nada's and her fans found 's story a very bitter pill to swallow. As a result, she was vilified for a very long time. . Guest guest
The movie was made from a book, also called " Mommie Dearest " . Iv'e been meaning to read it for a while, but tbh, I think I am a bit too scared. Slightly OT- I've been wondering whether le Steel has a form of BPD. Just to explain - I work part time in the local council library, and of course there are loads and loads of romance novels that get circulated. Every time I see Steel's face on the back of the book, I am reminded of my BP mother... there is that particular blend of showing off and deep insecurity in her expression. I wonder...
