Guest guest
Folks, I just about blew a gasket when I saw even the first few sentences of this article... The AMA, yes the freakin' AMA is opposing a government health plan as part of large health care reform!!! I know I shouldn't be shocked to see just how co-opted these SOB's really are, no less how out of touch from the realities of how the large carriers are our worse enemy and need the swift kick in the behind that a competitive alternative that cares not about feeding Greedy CEO's, sales staff, a staff of rationing access, and shareholders. But to actually come out and oppose such a logical idea in public, using PCP's funds to hurt these same PCP's and their patients is more than I can tolerate... If any of you still have membership in the elitist, specialist biased and run organization, IMHO, it is time to get the hell out now, and make sure they know exactly why you are leaving if and until the reverse their stance about the private carriers needing special protection. As stated by the republicans, a private company that has to show a profit can not compete with a publicly run one that doesn't. Plus they must support and have the committee actually change their recommendations to congress, that office visits for primary care doctors must have the same relative value as an procedure performed by a specialist... http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/11/us/politics/11health.html?_r=1 Sorry to be the one to post the bad news... Here's your AMA in action, working so hard with your membership dollars for the important issues that effect you most...... Unbelievable, simply Amazing....
