Andy,

Now I'm confused.....After everything you've taught me, wouldn't it be

understandable that the numbers would go down from 17 to 1, after 9 weeks of

chelation with only DMSA? I was thinking when I read that post that now

would be the time they might want to add ALA because maybe the levels of the

loose mercury were diminishing?

Straighten me out on this one please, I'm trying real hard to learn all of

this.

Going for two more amalgam removals tomorrow. Yippee!

Your doctor is incorrect. The problem is almost certainly improper

handling of the urine samples. A variation from 17 to 1 is not

possible with any reasonable amount of DMSA - 50 mg every 4 hours only

doubles output, and 200 mg every 4 only increases it 4 times (I'm

assuming she is about 50# - the numbers don't change greatly if she is

30#). So to go from an unchelated 1 to a chelated 17 you would need to

give her 1,600 mg of DMSA - 16 chemet capsules - every 4 hours.

Sample mishandling is a very common problem.

The absorption of DMSA with and without food has been studied and food

is not a significant influence.
