Guest guest
Hi, I am also new to the list. I have two daughters - is 11 (typical), Becca is 7, and is diagnosed with PDD.nos and Ocular Albinism (a mild visual impairment), she also has low muscle tone. She is smart and funny and creative, but quite handicapped at the same time. For example it took three years of very consistent work to get her potty trained -- and it still falls apart at every opportunity. Socially and cognitively, she is like an Asperger's kid. She goes to a little private school with typical kids, with an aide some of the time. Next year she'll be going to the big public school, so I'm trying to figure out what she'll need. We have done ABA, VB, but not CFGF!! I have spent some time with a VB list lately, but Becca is really past most of that at this point. But don't worry about me being dogmatic - I'm the " do what works " type. Anyhow, each kid is different, and the resources available in each geographic area are different. Now I am more concerned with the social skills, like Amy. We don't have any such great resources around here for social skills, though. Have people succeeded in social skills groups made up of similar kids? Whenever we get the ASD kids together, it seems 20 times as hard to get them to interact. Also she is very rigid about rules and routines right now -- explanations about social skills are so complicated, it makes me so crazy trying to think about how to explain concepts so they won't solidify and become like concrete. It is all such hard work.....

Guest guest
Hi Tammy! I had a TT and hernia repair a little over a year ago. I weighed 209 pounds when I had the surgery and had stalled in my weight loss. After the surgery I got down to 182. (I've since gained 4 pounds.) My initial pain after surgery was worse than my DS but the recovery was SO much quicker. And I'm really happy I did it. I was wearing a size 16 before the tuck and I wear a size 14 now. And no one asks me when the baby is due anymore. LOL! (The hernia was really big!) E-mail me privately if you have specific questions but keep in mind that everyone is different. Marta had no pain from her tuck and has a perfectly flat stomach while my tummy has a " pooch " to it. Tracey > HI!! > I'm Tammy S. from Lodi, ca I had wls w/ Dr. K, May 25, 2002.
