Guest guest
Hi Everyone! I have found 2 books that are very helpful and wanted to pass along their names to you. One is " A Mind at a Time " by Mel Levine. He is a pediatrician in NC and will be doing a day-long conference here in Louisville in August. The other book is " The Explosive Child " by Ross Greene. These books are not about OCD specifically but offer help/suggestions for parents of children who don't fit the typical child mold. Both authors stress that when children have low frustration and frequent outbursts, it is not intentional to aggravate parents or win attention. They make a good point in that why would a child have terrible outbursts and make themselves and everyone around them totally miserable if they could help it? I'm rather new to the group so you may have already discussed these books. If anyone needs information about the Levine conference, I may be able to help - just let me know. Take care, Rada Jeffries in Louisville
