Guest guest
Melody, Thank you, I would not have thought to start my plants indoors, but Mamma did. We had a dining room that faced the sun and Mamma would have little plants growing EVERYWHERE. I had to water them all so I hated those little things. Growing up, it was my job to hoe our 5 acre garden. I have hated gardening ever since. But Melody, you have inspired me, so I am going to start some plants indoors to plant in my self watering 55 gal barrel out on the patio. That self watering planter thing got my attention and I saved the site. I want a roma tomatoe, a grape tomatoe and a yellow tomatoe, those were my favorite growing up. I want a jalapeno plant. I did grow those once and did not know to cover my hands and by the time i cut them all up to dehydrate, my hands burned for days and then I kept getting it in my eyes. I want a cilantro plant, I am going to try sprouting that one of these days. I got some seeds on amazon just to make up a $25 order, so I could get free shipping. My daughter wanted a book that was $23, so I added some seeds to the order to get the free shipping. I am going to set up another self watering pot to try growing horseradish. I may also try turmeric. I have had no luck finding any roots of turmeric even in my asian markets. I am also going to try sprouting spinach, I just have to get some seeds. But the thing I REALLY want to grow is arugula, it is $7 a pound at the coop and I just LOVE it. So far it is my favorite green that I have found in this amazing journey of discovery. Melody I may look for a 3 X 15 planter just to grow the arugula. I WANT it. I think I did get arugula sprouts in my French Garden mix and I cannot get enough of that stuff. The only thing that I have growing in my yard is a raspberry over in the corner. We paid $3,000 to have the lawn put in with rainbird sprinklers, so I am not about to tear up my yard. I also love asparagus, yet another weed according to my daddy. But from what I have read you can grow weed things in containers, so long as you never let them go to seed. I guess you just chop them off before they grow that big. But I may plant some caraway and let it go to seed, that is my favorite seed next to mustard that I just discovered. You guys get me so excited I want to do all sorts of things I have never done. Suz I may have to get me a flip phone so I can put up video's too. Then again I may just enjoy Melody's that would be one more little machine I would have to learn to use.
