Guest guest
There use to be another woman of autism on this list and have not been to see her words in a while. I to be not good with names and such but I to thinked she was on this list too. So how many adults woman's with autism spectrum are to be here on this list. By the way I to be to reading a book called the ADHD AUTISM connection by Diane Kennedy and have been to just finish the first chapter and to think this book is so much good for those who to have children who others are to be confused by the dx since the child is verbal and higher functioning. Guest guest
I was on Flexeril for a short time and it didn't help me at all . I take carisprodal which is a generic form of soma , it works real well for me . Question Has anybody taken the muscle relaxers Skelaxin,Flexeril or Robaxin? I was wondering if they were ok to take. Guest guest
Soma (aka cardisprodal) is also very hard on the liver, so if yours is already compromised, Steve, please beware.. That proof has been posted more than one time.. Should we be recommending things that are known to be hard on the liver, given this List is basically for those with Hepatitis C and those that care about them? Guest guest
I don't know of any muscle relaxers that are good for the liver Sheena , as a matter of fact almost every medication given now days effects the liver . But if you need that medication then you have to take it . As long as the meds are taken as prescribed and you are followed up by a physician who does blood work to make sure your liver enzymes don't go to the roof then take em ... A lot of us hep c patients who have been sick for a long time get allot of secondary problems due to the hep like osteoporosis , degenerative disc disease , neuropathy , etc so meds are needed to control muscle spasms and or the pain . Guest guest
I have some of these things, so I well understand, Just would not want to tell another hepper it was okay to use a drug that I knew to be hepatoxic. I don't know what shape their liver might be in.. There are many drugs that are bad for the liver, including many antibiotics, HOW bad is up to the individual to decide.. We are not all the same..Everyone should be doing their own research, doctors don't always bother to check, either.. Guest guest
I've been taking " baclofen " for the past month due to bad discs in neck are and arthritis in shoulder. Seems to help and I don't have any of that " narco " feeling that pain relievers give you. Don't know anything more about this drug. > I was on Flexeril for a short time and it didn't help me at all . I take carisprodal which is a generic form of soma , it works real well for me . Guest guest
That is why I said the patient needs a good doctor to do follow up blood work to make sure the liver is tolerating the meds . Guest guest
I had never heard of this medication so I did some research on it ......does it work for you ? I would be worried about the neuro depression ( my brain is working slow enough lol) . The carisprodal doesnt give me a narcotic type of feeling , more of a somulent feeling lol QuestionHas anybody taken the muscle relaxers Skelaxin,Flexeril or Robaxin? Guest guest
THATS the very reason I stopped taking the soma and all muscle relaxers and I rely upon a warm tub or hot tub daily for my pain,, even sometimes Im in it 6 or 7 times, but that WONT harm my liver like these drugs can,, elizabethnv1 wrote: That is why I said the patient needs a good doctor to do follow up blood work to make sure the liver is tolerating the meds . Guest guest
I took Flexeril but stopped when I read how hard it is on the liver,, so I typically soak in a hot tub several times per day in lieu of chemicals,, steve brewer wrote: Has anybody taken the muscle relaxers Skelaxin,Flexeril or Robaxin? Guest guest
just put baclofen into Google and got loads of leads, lol! It is a muscle relaxant that does have it's own side effects. I would always have anyone interested in a drug to discuss it thoroughly with their Doc. I didn't see any correlation with liver problems, but, be forwarned. All drugs interact with something else. And, yes, it does work for me, with no sides at all, but I don't drive at all. I take one first thing in the a.m., then relax with my fruit breakfast and newspaper (always look forward to the crossword and funnies! Then I take another one at bedtime, and sleep away whatever negative sides it has. Just be sure you check with your hcv specialist. > > I had never heard of this medication so I did some research on it ......does it work for you ? Guest guest
I truly wish I didn't need the meds I take for my neuropathy and rheumatoid arthritis, but without them, I think I'd be in a wheelchair. Back to quality of life......not to mention the ability to make a living, although being able to work again is looking further away every day. As far as depression goes, I probably should be on something for that too. Considering my health is questionable, my marriage is a shambles, I have no income & no immediate hope to have one soon..........but if I ever get the feeling that life is not worthwhile, I remember that my estranged husband will just move into my home probably with some bimbo and that thought gives me the WILL TO LIVE & WIN!!! Guest guest
Jackie, you are so fortunate that you have the luxury of #1 having a hot tub and #2 being able to do that several times a day. After I developed neuropathy and had to go to work so I could eat & keep the lights on, I relied on meds to get me out of bed in the morning and get me through the day. God, that hot tub sounds great!!! Dorothy
Guest guest
I know that antidepressents affect different people in different ways, but is there one that is better for the liver than another? It's time for me to change, mine is getting less effective and I'm curious. Sharon in NW WashingtonAll I have seen teaches me to trust in the Creator for all that I have not seen. Guest guest
What are you taking? I used Celexa and later switched to Lexapro. Most ppl use an SSRI.. some docs try to give wellbutrin too but that is for dopamine, not specifically for seretonin.. You should speak to your doc because he probably has the most experience with the drugs that HE prescribes... so he would know all the other meds you are on as well and 'should' know which one might work the best for you.. jax SHARON CROSBY wrote: I know that antidepressents affect different people in different ways, but is there one that is better for the liver than another?
