Guest guest
Jimmie, I had very severe side effects and they got worse as tx went on. Around month 8 I was pretty sick. Yes, they do differ from one person to another and I hope that you feel better than I did through treatment.BarbTo: Hepatitis_C_Central From: peters_jimmie@...Date: Sun, 6 Mar 2011 16:23:42 +0000Subject: HEP. Guest guest
I had very bad side effects that increased as time went on. My blood levels (hemoglobin, white and platelets plummeted within a month of treatment. I had to have additional medications for that. My TSH shot up over 400. I have Hashimoto's so treatment messed up my thyroid completely. I had to stop treatment at 19 weeks. I am no longer a candidate for re-treatment. I am not telling you this to scare you. Each person responds differently to treatment. Just be aware that symptoms could happen and be prepared. Be positive, but prepared. Guest guest
Hi Deborah, I hope you read the article I just sent and start with some supplements to protect your liver. So sorry treatment did not work for you. As you said, everyone is different. SuziQ > > I had very bad side effects that increased as time went on. Guest guest
I was on the combo therapy for about 5 months. Hardly any side effects. I felt bad after the Interferon shot, but I just did it on Friday night and slept through the worst. Know why I had to stop? My employer changed my insurance, so instead of having to pay $100 per month for the drugs, I would have had to pay $1000 per month. I couldn’t afford it! Guest guest
Ya, insurance isn't fair. I had to limp through tx with the fear that they wouldn't cover me from month to month. I was always in a state of limbo and that wasn't good for my mental health during tx. I wish I could make your insurance pay for your tx. I wish you all the best and my heart truly goes out to you. Have you tried any of the patient assistance programs? That might be worth looking into. Hang in there. Barb Sent from my iPod

Guest guest
Both Jackie and Barb are right, you should fight your insurance, and in the meanwhile call the patient assistance line both the numbers are in the file section of this group. They are pretty fast in getting you into the system. You will need a copy of your most recent bank statement. I believe you can block out the account numbers and so forth. Just show how much you made and so forth. Good luck and let me know if you need any further assistance.
