Throughout history unions have been struck down because they are always about

the working class trying to take back some chips from the ruling/elite class.

Study any history of any country and see. Our politicians are very smart. They

planted the seeds of anti-communism so deeply that the majority of people can be

tricked into thinking any pro-labor (which is what we are unless you have

employee who make money for you) action is communist. Without people on our

side, the Powers (Insurance/FTC/CMS etc) will make any rules they want and spin

it so the public sees it in a positive light.

The only way I see anything happening is we engage in organized disruption of

their plans. Make them lose so much money that they have to negotiate. Fax your

prior auths 5-10 times and say it was an error. Write the drug you want and

check No Substitution after you check the formulary or explain to the patient

they WILL pay out of pocket. Make a payment floor and not see patients who pay

less than that. If somebody is truly needy see them for free. Become an agent

for the smallest insurance company in your area to encourage competition. The

company may cancel your contract or do an audit and ask you to repay them. What

if you just let the contract be breached? What do you lose?

Right now, we have no chips. Everyone has a high debt load which actually makes

any strike nearly impossible. Everyone (including our families) expects us to

live comfortably so no revolution can happen. Revolutionaries don't were nice

clothes or drive fancy cars. Our specialty organizations are too bloated to do

anything. Many are too busy making a medical home and ensuring access to spend

the money getting the right politicians elected. Many of the public will not pay

for something they can get for free. Much of what we provided in the past is now

free so general medicine should shift away from primarily telling patients which

medications to take. There are no urologists or orthopedic surgeons on this

board for a reason - they have a plan and a organization that works for them to

protect their trade.
