I also was thinking that juicing sprouts ensures nothing goes to waste. Usually,

if I have any extra, I share them with my birds--but I sprout lots of seeds and

beans for them as it is.

So today I try my first sprout juice--Italian mix. This week, my radish/mustard

sprouts will be ready, so I will give them a try too.

Thanks for your tips on how it went for you--I will keep the lemon juice on hand

and make my usual carrot concoction of carrots, oranges, apples.  I cannot

abide celery though. Beets, which I don't care for, I DO like juiced. Just a

little piece, as you once advised, goes a long way in juices when it comes to

beets.

Thanks n. I'll be working all weekend but I'm going to harvest some of my

sprouts this evening and do my first sprout juice. If it energizes me as others

have mentioned,I'll be juicing it every morning! Your weekend plans sound

blissful, and I think we're in for some sun again. :ave a great weekend all!

Hats off to both Molly and for their hard and essential work in icu.

Although I no longer work in hospitals, I am forever respectful and grateful to

those of you in the trenches doing that daily, hard work.

I used to do triage in the ER in jersey city, back in my undergrad days-oh my,

the things the Er, OR, and ICU had to handle! Hats off to you and God Bless. You

are doing important work.

I am hoping to juice sprouts this weekend-been working a lot and absolutely need

the break and the excitement of trying this!

I f you can find Golden beets give them a try,they are sweeter and

milder...My favorite for sure.I keep trying to like celery too and I

just can't. My base juice is carrots ,apples and about an 1/8 slice

of lemon and then I'll add different things from there. Seems like

the lemon cuts and bitterness in almost anything and it also helps

even my weirdest mixtures blend well together...

who hopes her old lemon tree comes back after the hard freezes it

experienced this past winter....yes even in Florida we had sustained

below freezing temps! Yikes

I just juiced a bunch of Italian mix and downed about 4 oz of the juice. I took

a little sip and decided that: A. is right, sprout juice tastes like

sprouts, and, B. a little lemon juice was in order. So I squeezed half of a

lemon into the juice, gave it a good swirl and drank it down.

For a moment, before adding the lemon, I considered apple cider vinegar instead.

But rather than run the risk of ending up with some awful tasting concoction, I

stuck with the tried and true lemon. Glad I did. And am very glad I read

and Suz's posts about what they did. 4 oz I thought was amazing for me. And

without that lemon, I sincerely doubt I would have been leisurely sipping the

stuff-I am sure it would have been more like how I drink wheatgrass-quickly

downed while holding my breath and followed quickly by another juice.

I feel quite an energy lift that I have to attribute to that juice

I am pretty excited about trying radish/mustard sprout juice

At the moment I am plotting where to next get my coconut water fix.

thanks Jane, I will give those a try. I happen to have some golden beets in the

fridge--was supposed to cook them for my husband but I have so much trouble

forcing myself to cook beets--I make them for him occasionally, but unless he

asks, I pretty much don't. They are so low on my list cooked! Juiced or pickled

are okay for me though :)
