Guest guest
Melody, I know your post was for Patty but just wanted to say if I lived in Brooklyn, I'd probably be super cautious too. However, here in NC, in the city I live, I've used CL for both selling and buying and also use Freecycle for receiving and giving. I love both resources and have (thank God) never had any issue with anyone in any of my dealings. Still, I think it's good to be cautious, regardless. Funny story, I was going to do a CL purchase just a few months ago and the seller wanted to meet me away from my house! I was downright hurt and indignant that she would think I was less than an upright individual, LOL. But I understood her desire to be careful. That situation actually never panned out for other reasons, which was just as well (or I would have ended up with four more guinea pigs in addition to the two I already have - Oy Vey!!!). Anyway, I still haven't gotten my sproutgarden but will be doing that soon. Meanwhile, think I'll browse CL for some accoutrements for healthy living! BTW, I also have a Flip camera - actually got it for my husband a few years ago after seeing it on Oprah (fave things show, of course!). He never uses it so it's still virtually brand new. I need to get it, read the manual and start using it myself!! But I won't be competition for your sprouting vids, that's for sure. Not sure what I'll do yet. Hi Patty: Here in Brooklyn, NY, one never meets ANYONE that one doesn't know. I wish I lived in PA or in Vermont or in some other state that had a better reputation than good old Brooklyn, NY. But you are right, I shouldn't have come down so hard on CraigsList. I do apologize Melody > > > > Melody, > > > > Check Craigslist and Freecycle for styrofoam coolers. > > > > > > > > > > > I'm looking for the cheaper styrofoam coolers that cost under five bucks. Guest guest
Thea: Girl, you go and get the Flip out of whatever drawer you have it stashed. I never read the manual. You plug it into the computer, it loads up the software (Oh, I did have to set the date and time, but just follow instructions). And as far as ease of use??? You press the red button to record and you press the red button to stop. It was MADE for me!!!! lol You will LOVE it!! I haven't stopped since I got it. Guest guest
LOL, Well then, it was definitely made for me too since I'm not much of a technogeek!! Not sure how new yours is, but I'm hoping mine is as easy to use since it's possibly a few years older. Now to try and remember exactly where it is stashed!! T. Guest guest
My Flip is not HD, it has a 2 hour recording time and I just adore it. I have never owned any kind of camcorder because 1. too pricey, and 2. I never knew how to use them, you had to put the cartridge in, they had different size cassettes, they were so big you had to hoist them over your shoulder. I never had one. Then.....this little baby came into my life. OMG. I record EVERYTHING. Yesterday my little neighbor came walking by, and we got to chatting and I had my Flip. His mother said " He's 5 today " . I said " YOU'RE 5 YEARS OLD TODAY??? I must make a video. So I did, and posted it on the mom's facebook page. They loved it. Melody P.S. I'm dangerous aren't I??? rofl. Guest guest
Your flip sounds like the one I have - I know it's not HD either, but I think it only has a one hour recording time. It's also battery operated which I suspect yours is? I think that's great that you're such a videophile!! One day perhaps one of your vids will go viral on YouTube and you'll be featured on GMA or the Ellen show or Regis and - you never know!! You need to find a really cute dog doing really cute things or a baby/toddler doing something incredible, like laughing like there's no tomorrow over bubbles in the air or paper being torn, LOL!! You're an inspiration to all the rest of us sprouters and videomaker wannabes!!! Just found my Flip and just need to replace the batteries. Then on to finding a good recording subject, LOL!! Guest guest
I think the only difference between our Flips is that mine has 2 hour recording. I cannot imagine recording ANYTHING for hours. I just do little clips and bring up my Flip sofware and edit the video clips and then string them together to make MOVIES. I taught myself how to do this and the good thing is once you learn, YOU LEARN!!! I can also shorten the videos. This thing is so neat. Oh, this will make you laugh. My husband is usually a good sport about being in my videos. Last night I tried out a new product called cool collars. It keeps you cool in the warm weather. I tried it out and you are supposed to wear it like a collar. It works. So I wanted to put it on Alan, only I wanted to put it on his head like the way people wore headbands in the 80's. I had it on my head all afternoon and it cooled me beautifully. So I approached him, I put it on his head, he goes " oh, this is nice " I then said " I'm putting you in my video " . Well, one might have thought I wanted to give him limburger cheese because he says " Get that thing away from me, I'm not going to be seen in this thing " . I never laughed so hard. Someday!!!!!!!!! lol Melody
