Need HELP finding a doc

I really need some help. The doctors at the large university hospital where we

live admit they don't have the experience/expertise to treat my son. They

referred us to Hopkins. Hopkins refuses to see him because he has medicaid

(because he is my foster son) and they won't accept VA Medicaid. They say they

can't take private pay when someone has M'caid. I don't know if it's legal or

accurate, but they have clearly slammed the door shut.

My son is 13, has Hep C he aquired from his birth mom, and has multiple other

medical/developmental/ behavioral issues. He now has fibrosis, stage 2-3. The

medical folks here are just passing the buck. Psych won't change his meds until

GI docs give guidance, GI docs say they know nothing about which psych drugs are

safest.

PLEASE tell me where kids are getting the treatment they need. I'll take him

anywhere. I need 3 things: 1. should he be treated now or wait for new drugs?

2. Someone to guide the local docs who are willing to carry things out but want

" someone else driving the train " . 3. Someone who can give guidance about psych

meds since this is already an issue.

I'm SO frustrated and upset. We should have been seeing the doc at Hopkins

today. Mid day yesterday they told me we couldn't. I'd been working almost

non-stop for 2 weeks to set up private pay. Since the appointment was made,

we've wasted a month. Instead of the medical system helping, I feel like I'm

dragging them behind me while I try to get someone to step up to the plate.

HELP!

Thanks.
